I am in love with www.wikipedia.org. Greatest place on the internet to find information on anything. It is also a great place to find bands and their influences.
I'm also a pirate, hence my name, and I was reading up on some history and biography's when I came upon a topic labeled Pirates in Rock Music. Nothing much caught my eye until I seen the word metal. So it turns out there's a pirate metal band called Running Wild. I immediately went to their website hoping for a download, music video, or a sample playlist, but came out empty handed.
If anyone could give me their opinion on this band, or a link to some of their material, that would be great! _________________ you put your hope into the sky

Yes, they're an 80s German Metal Band. The band leader calls himself Rock'n'Rolf
I think the 1987 release "Under Jolly Roger" was their biggest succes. But "Death or Glory" and "Pile of Skulls" sound quite similar. |

Sorry if I opened another thread about Running Wild, but I didn't see this topic!!!! I apologize you!
Running Wild are an awesome power band, my mother bought me their lp PILE OF SKULLS a few days ago and it's a wonderful album... they have a lot of Iron Maiden influences added to their power metal.
You see, I have a lotta Hard'n'Heavy albums (vinyls and CD's), about 1500 I think, and this PILE OF SKULLS is one of the best ones!!! I suggest you, besides PILE OF SKULLS, their album BLACK HAND INN... really really beautiful! _________________ THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY, FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE!

TOXIC TASTE, the side project of RUNNING WILD mainman Rolf "Rock'n'Rolf" Kasparek (who goes by the name T.T. Poison in the new group), has posted several audio samples on its official web site.
http://www.toxictaste.de/
T.T. Poison's official bio describes him as "a man of composed character, who has a sense of very subtle humor. On stage he is like a raging volcano. He loves music and life in general and takes revel in both to the full. T.T. Poison takes away his audience by his superior presence he is so well known for. He is a downtown Neon citizen by birth."
TOXIC TASTE's lineup is rounded out by Marc Acid (vocals), Andy Caustic (guitar), Bob Beastly (drums) and Francis Cauter-Rize (bass).
In other news, a previously unreleased RUNNING WILD track, entitled "Skulldozer", can be heard below. The song, which was recorded during the sessions for 1992's "Pile Of Skulls", never saw the light of day because songwriter Stefan Schwarzmann kept on to the track and used it on the first X-WILD album under the title "Skybolter". |
