He was born in July of 42', which just goes to show you that he
is not of this world. There is no way a guy his age could put on the show he does. He truely is magic. He rocks so hard core, and his voice has only improved. He blows my mind. He is the rock God to end ALL rock Gods. (Can you tell I like him a little?) _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

Old enough to be as cool as he is and young enough to be as hot as he is. He'll be hot when he's 80.

You were just being nice when you said his voice has improved, right?
Some day, some way, you'll feel the things I say. |

His age is NOT the most important thing in the world. More important is that he still does what he does with dedication and class. That's what counts.
BUT, if some people can't live without the age debate, I wil tell you that I have already come across three dates of Ronnie's birth: 1942, 1947, 1948. Last year, just before his concert in Poland, he did a radio interview in which at one point he was talking about how he got into music. He said that in 1953, he started listening to songs that were played on the radio. And the journalist asks this question: How old were you back then? And Ronnie answers: I WAS 5.
So it seems he was born in 1948. Just like Plant, Osbourne. But as I said, it doesn't really matter as long as he's good at what he does. |

1948 uh? Hmmm. That would place him as A1, prime Vietnam draft material. I wonder what the deal was with that. There's some more trivia for all the Dio people. Was he a draft dodger, a conscientious objector or what? |

i doubt he was born in '48, he was in bands as a teenager in the late '50s. So that would mean he was 10 years old when he was in those vocal groups he started out with. [/b] |

I also have to say Ronnie is amazing to still sing so great !
If you notice every other singer from his era has lost it .
Ian Gillan , Ozzy , Robert Plant , Halford , and all of these guys are younger than Ronnie . The fact that he can sing so well is just
amazing !!! |

I don't want to say you're wrong. Hell, yeah, maybe he was born in '42. But I HEARD Ronnie saying he was 5 in 1953.
Anyhow, he still can outsing every guy from his generation, no doubt about it.
Plant has lost it, on Mighty Rearranger, his latest studio effort he seems tired and his voice is somewhat strained at times. But Tin Pan Valley is a song where he shows he can still pull it off. Listen to it if you can.
Halford (1951): yeah, his upper register is gone, sad to say this. Other than that, his voice is still strong I think.
Ozzy? Give me a break, to me he's never been one of the top vocalists.
Gillan (1945) has lost the falsetto thing, but he's still trying to hit the high notes. He just likes it, I guess.
Coverdale? No way, he struggled even in 1997 on his last Whitesnake studio album. Higher notes are gone. Just listen to a song called STAY WITH ME (BABE). Unbearable. Really.
Glenn Hughes is still fantastic. |

The day is July 10th, but the best guess of the year is 1942 or 1940. Some sources say that he graduated from High School in 1960, so he must have been 18 or 20 then. At least he recorded his debut in 1958, so I guess one has to be 18 or 20 to have a record deal and make a record in the late 50's USA.
ALL I care about is his music and his performance. They are both ROCK HARD, STONE COLD AND BURNING STEEL!!! _________________ HEAVY FUCKING METAL!!!
