I'm going with Strange Highways.
Rowan was cool on LUTW(what ever happend to him anyway?)
Sorry folks,I recognize Craig has talent but his style just doesn't do it for me.
I'm not trying to start anything here....just putting in my 2 cents.
Dream Evil was such a letdown for me...perhaps only because Craig had to follow Viv and he didn't really compare in my book.
Tracy G Isn't Viv either but he brought a different and refreshing sound along.I thought Ronnies writing was excellent on Strange Highways too.
I only hope that RJD and Viv can put the past behind them one day and do something new...lets face it,that window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller the more time passes.
Viv really wasted his talent with Def Leppard and Whitesnake.
I guess I'l just keep my fingers crossed for the next Dio release to be..."Return Of The Diver" with Viv,Vinny and Jimmy in the line up.
Man that would be SWEET!!!! |

| i enjoy dream evil, magica and strange highways the others are so so albums for me as for getting viv back well i agree he isnt doing much in def leppard but in a recent interview he stated he does not care for dio music or the music he record with him! and he even said dio is a horrible excuse for a human being. so i dont think viv will be coming back anytime soon and frankly i prefer craig over him. |

I would say "killing The Dragon". It's definately the best Dio album sine "The Last In Line" .. Next place would go for "Strange Higways" or "Master Of the Moon" |

Wow...so you're all saying that MOTM is RJD's best work since Viv?
Shocking ,but I guess the numbers don't lie.
Can we get some more votes please?
I know there are more than 14 members here. |

Very good poll. Hard to say for me because a lot of these albums are equally great in their own right. I voted for "Magica" because of the sheer brilliance of the concept and the performances. That's not to take anything away from "Strange Highways," "Killing The Dragon" or "Master Of The Moon" because each has awesome moments and I love them equally.
One of the many nice things about being a Dio fan is that the product is always high quality. |

Lock Up The Wolves for me. A severely underated album with great songs, great production and immense guitar work from Rowan Robertson.
Having said that there is merit in all post Viv Dio albums, I even like the Tracy G era. Strange Highways is immense and even Angry Machines has the odd moment of inspiration.
Dream Evil (save for the title track) is probably my least favourite Dio album. _________________ "Slver linings can disappear but they always shine... |

I say Dream Evil. It's even better than the Viv albums imo.
Night People, Dream evil, All the fools sailed away, Naked in the rain, I could have been a dreamer, Sunset superman....hell the entire album is great!!! _________________ "They'll tell you black is really white. The moon is just the sun at night. It's Heaven & Hell!" |

Wow, I am really surprised by the results of the vote thus far. I can't believe Dream Evil is in fourth place while Strange Highways ranks above Lock up The Wolves. Interesting.
