I have to say after really thinking this thing hard.. that Goldy is a right man for Dio and the reason is that he knows what's dio about!!!!Ronnie himself has said lot's of times that he's songs should be mystical and Fantasy related stuff and 'though Doug is better player Goldy is a better songwriter if thinking about Dio stuff 'cause hey listen the Dream evil album trough every song gives me shivers and every song really has that Dio kind of mystical feel!!I can honestly feel myself crying inside my heart when listening to a "Naked in the rain"!!!Doug would be a better in Whitesnake!!and It would be really interesting to hear some new Coverdale/Aldrich stuff!!!
PS.Compare Killing the dragon and Magica!!! I think the music says more than a ten thousand words!!!

Yeah, that's why I voted for Doug! Killing the Dragon is musically far superior to Magica. I really prefered the 'edge' that Doug Aldrich gave to the songs - I wasn't majorly impressed with 'the music' on Magica (the lyrics were cool as always), but even if you don't ask me - it's Craig that should be playing for Whitesnake... his dream like impressionist riffing would be more suited to a soft rock band - Doug is a true rock & roller - you can hear it in his playing a mile wide!!! 
I really hope he takes note of the poll results here - and gets back in Dio where he's obviously missed...

i personally would like it to be one off the...
Fight album...
halfords old guitarist...
this would be KILLER
even though i like the Dream Evil sound...
i need something more...
killing the dragon sounds too much like Dream Evil...
dont really want another album like this...
which i like them all..
just want another CRUNCH...
a GRIND... Dio has yet to find
just my words...

While i think Craig is a decent player i would have to go with Doug .. I just think he plays everything well from all the Dio songs .
And nails the classics very well . |

good reply, i much prefer KTD TO MAGICA, simply because its a diversion for ronnie, something different, faster, more upbeat and fresh...and it sold way better than magica...and master of the moon.

and another point, doug is much more energised on tour, puts more into it than craig and doug actually smiles..!!....just one other opinion doug is a far better tecnical player too...and lets face it , hes far more reliable than craig..if that was not true why is ronnie asking doug to come back to replace craig again..??...my guess and its only a guess is that it is the same reason that jimmy bain left.

doug-he's a far more technical player, and has already been said- he actually smiles-i always enjoy gigs more if it looks like the band are actually having fun!
