Besides the guys from DP, Rainbow, BS, WS.........who would you like to see Ronnie work with?
I would love to see this line-up:
Ronnie James Dio: vocals
Yngwie Malmsteen: guitar
Steve Harris: bass
Neil Perth(hope that's spelled correctly): drums |

Hmm, I wonder what that would sound like. Would Zakk want to play with Ronnie? |
Who knows... but that Steel Dragon cover of Long Live Rock & Roll, certainly got my neck flexing!!! I know it's all a pipe dream scenario, but I think it would be cool just for a few songs to see what they could all come up with.
On reflection I think I'd also probably replace Nikki Sixx with Geezer Butler, as he's a better lyricist more suited to the aura of Dio, and he gives his bass a total carcass pummelling with a complete gargantuan groove! I'd definitely still keep Snowy Shaw though... he's a demon on the kit _________________ Tyler says: 'If this is your first time on the Dio forum... YOU HAVE TO POST!!!' |

| I always thought Leslie West was one of the best and most underated guitarist but I don't know how Ronnie and Leslie would sound together. Other guitarist would include Billy Gibbons, Slash, and Richie Sambora. |

Here's my version of an interesting Dio band:
John McLaughlin - guitar
Chris Squire - bass
Bill Bruford - drums
Keep it simple and heavy.
I would have said Jimmy Page instead, but since John McLaughlin was one of Page's idols (where he got the idea for the easternish riffing in Kashmir), and listening to the Mahavishnu Orchestra records, I have to say that I think McLaughlin is a more interesting guitarist. _________________ Weird thoughts that don't work,

Guitar: John Petrucci
Bass: Geezer Butler (unlikely to happen )
Drums: Jimmy Chamberlain
Keyboards: John Lord
Probably totally unsuited to each other, stylistically, but worth seeing just for the raw display of talent _________________ "The pen is mightier than the sword...except in a sword fight" |
