So I read somewhere a while ago that he is going to be doing some stuff with original members from Dio when he was part of the band:

Gotta say if this goes thru, I will not be happy about it. Unless Wendy is okay with this for some reason. I mean last I heard Dio and Vivian weren't exactly friends anymore, and last I heard they pretty much couldn't stand each other. Why would this guy all of a sudden come out and do this?
Did they make up before Dio passed away? If not, then this has to be stopped somehow. At least as far as I'm concerned. |

It does seem odd that Vivian Campbell would all of the sudden want to acknowledge the music he made with Dio. I'm not sure what to make of this development.

It IS an official announcement on Viv's FB page and has been confirmed by one other member personally. So though it may not come to anything, the interest is there and the discussion has happened.

Hmm, extremely doubtful that he can fill Ronnie's immensely talented shoes.

Oh I agree with that--BAD choice for vocalist. Not sure ANYONE could fill Ronnie's shoes behind the mic but this guy does not even come close in my mind.
I AM excited about the other three getting together==it just seems a nice return to something that started out wonderful.

I only know three singers, who could fit: Nils Patrik Johanson(Astral Doors), Doogie White (Rainbow,Cornerstone...), or Jorn Lande (Masterplan,Ark...).
But I´m sure none of them would do...
But ... Dio was unique!
I don´t like Thin Lizzy without Lynott.
Vivian Campbell said a lot of s..t about RJD and now he wants to make big money with his name.

I can't support that band, just like I can't support the other rest of the ex-DIO members currently touring with Owens. DIO without Ronnie James DIO is just blasphemous to me. If I want to hear His songs, I play a CD. That's all I need, as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly what I'm afraid they are trying to do... no matter who or how hard or good they are, it's just not Ronnie.

I have to agree that Vivian Campbell is such a jerk. Vivian was on a local radio station a couple of years ago in Philadelphia while touring with Def Leppard and made a comment about RJD commenting how he was not paid enough and felt like he was being ripped off. . Now he wants to get the band Dio back together with original members and play. I have to agree I don't think there are any singers out there that could fill RJD shoes. After all there is only one singer of rock in my opioion and that was the one and only Ronnie James Dio there will never be another. So I think Vivian Campbell should just stay with Def Leppard

great post that is how i feel about it, vivian couldnt have made peace with ronnie when he was alive? but now wants to make money off of his name, it sickens me
