My Hero is gone.....but not his legacy

My deepest sympathy for you Olivious. Of course it is a hard time for you and your dear and near.

I'd like to think that when someone die they are not completely gone - we still have the good times and the good memories.

I just watched the video "neon knights" and I was laughing out loud when I heared the new verse in Heaven & Hell about the white shape that wanted to take Ronnie to heaven and he said "Fuck off! I wanna burn with you and you and you (and pointing towards to audience)". I had a laugh, but then I felt a bit melancoly. Life is sure a bitter-sweet mix of bad and good.

I miss Ronnie so bad. He was my hero and the artist I've seen live more times than any other artist.

True Words Darren! I miss him so much. I just watched the "neon knights"-video. I miss you so very much RJD! You were a true guiding light for me. In times when the world seemed dark I knew I had Ronnie, but unfortunately no more. I miss you RJD! So very much!

16th May 2010……a day I will never forget. My hero lost his biggest battle and I was left empty and numb.

I found Ronnie when I was 7 years old on the Rainbow on stage album and was a fan from the moment I hear the opening lines of Kill the King…….the rest is the soundtrack of my life….I followed Ronnie through Rainbow, Sabbath, Dio, Sabbath, Dio and finally Heaven and Hell……I was hoping to see Ronnie on the 2009 Dio tour but it was cancelled, later for us to all be told it was because of his illness. I followed his progress as much as I could and was really hopeful he was coming through it but then it all turned on its head and I lost a foundation stone of who I am.

When I met Ronnie I was shocked by how genuine he was, how he told his ‘people’ that he would leave the venue when he had finished his conversation with me and my wife…….I will always remember after a 40minute chat (which he led most of I should add) he turned to my wife and said ‘take good care of him…..he’s a good man’………I felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend when we left the venue.

Ronnie James Dio, my idol, a year has past and I still miss you. It took me a long while to be able to listen to your music as I cried or felt total despair when I did…..but slowly your music and DVD’s have made their way back in and I listen to you often.
I hope you can forgive those who have caused some trouble since you moved on, but remember you will always have us…..the fans – no one will ever take that away from you or us and in us you live on.

I shall raise a glass of red for you Ronnie.

As Ronnie said: "You got us, we go you and we all got the music". Some day I will pay my respect at your final resting place.

You will always be remembered and your legacy will never die - because you got us, and we all got the memories and the music.

2 years ago the bedrock of my life cracked with the news that Ronnie James Dio had died. Today, 2 years since that terrible news, I will remember him.

I am still so sad that he is gone.
