| Wasn't there some Magica material to be released? I can't quite remember. Also I did read in a news letter recently where Wendy said there was some unreleased Black Sabbath material to be released but she would have to get with 3 different managers to make it happen. No time frame was given. |

|
|
| hello all , i wonder is there is any info that the niji team can give us on any 2012 releases , if i was being honest , im fairly disappointed that there hasnt been much released so far , the donington cd / vinyl was great , but theres been little else of interest...the box set and the 'super rock 85' dvd was mentioned , but nothing. im comfident therre is some great material to be used as extras for a decent full set of remasters and as for dvd releases , again , im sure there is plenty available , its just such a shame that the future releases are not talked about enough...i know we have had some vinyl picture discs , but they are not the most difficult or interesting of items. i hope that if more questions are asked by the fans , hopefully the info will surface and eventually we wil get some new product etc..we need to keep ronnies music where it belongs , at the top and forefront of hard rock releases in 2012 and many years to come.... |

DIO: Newly Remastered Edition Of 'Holy Diver' Coming This Month
Audiophile specialty record label Audio Fidelity will release a newly remastered edition of DIO's classic debut album, "Holy Diver", in January 2012 as part of its 24K Gold Compact Disc series. This new
edition promises to be a significant sonic upgrade over past releases of this timeless debut due to the use of the original 1983 Sound City studio analog 30 ips AES half-inch non-Dolby original stereo mix tapes
along with the mastering expertise of renowned audiophile music
restoration specialist Steve Hoffman. Most previous releases relied on post-EQ'ed cutting tapes.
Hailed by critics as DIO's best work, the album was eventually certified platinum in the U.S. The
CD contains a two-page spread copy of the photo-montage LP liner with
images from both RAINBOW and BLACK SABBATH days that was included in the original vinyl release.

|
|
| agreed , its a pointless release in my opinion , what i would like to see is deluxe 2 cd sets of each album from 'holy diver' onwards..with extra tracks and live sets from the same era's....there have been some nice relases of the black sabbath and thin lizzy back catalogues , it would be great to see the dio back catalogue presented in this way..cheers |

http://www.black-sabbath.com/2012/02/dio-deluxe-editions/
Read the whole article. It's worth it, and I can't imagine why it wasn't on THIS site FIRST! Come on guys, wake up!
They are NOT being released in North America except as imports, so..
<grabs credit card>
It's much cheaper to order them direct from amazon.uk than to spend $40 each getting them as imports through amazon.com or .ca..
I was right: through amazon.uk: £29.97+Postage & Packing:£5.06=£35.03/ $55 Cdn. So $18 each, as opposed to $40 each. Which is to say: F*kken ORDERED. Less than you'd pay in a record store for new local 2-disc cd sets. _________________ FINIS PER SOMNIVM REPERIO TIBI SACRA COR VENEFICVS OSTIVM AVRVM. |

|
|
I know this has been discussed before, but I just bought the cd of really early Ronnie songs (all from 1971) called "And Before Elf… There Were Elves", with a great lenticular cover (and a very ill-advised footless blurry naked Ronnie on the actual disc). If you haven't seen it, here's the track listing:
01. You Shook Me
02. Stay With Me
03. Four Day Creep
04. Buckingham Blues
05. Wakeup Sunshine
06. Driftin'
07. Smile For Me Lady
08. You Felt The Same Way
09. Simple Man
10. Drown Me In The River
11. Cold Ramona
12. Little Queenie
..and here's an actual commercial for it!
http://vimeo.com/30398755
I've heard the songs before from bootlegs, etc., but the sound quality is very solid, and it's a nice new "first cd" for my Dio shelf:) _________________ FINIS PER SOMNIVM REPERIO TIBI SACRA COR VENEFICVS OSTIVM AVRVM. |

| Yep, just got my copy of this too. Good job on the audio quality folks. If you are any sort of Dio fan you will need this in your collection. The live tracks are quite heavy. I like! |
