I'm so happy to hear this! Of course we would all like to see Ronnie on the stage, but it will of course never happen. I'm dealing with that fact every day.
Personally, I hope it would be a kind of closure for me and to be able to celebrate his life work with fellow Dio-friends and the Dio band on stage.
I miss him so much and I feel this would get my closer to him. |

Probably they will play the setlis that was intended for the cancelled late 2009 tour of europe. Some rarities were promised for that tour.
According to an interview (I guess it was with Doug Aldrich) last year they rehearsed for:
Lady of the Lake
16th century greensleeves
Catch the Rainbow (On Stage version)

There's a facebook page for Dio Disciples.
According to that page, Rudy Sarzo will not be able to join the European tour due to his commitment with B.O.C.,James LoMenzo will be playing bass.

Oli,
Now, that would be something to see. I think it would be good for Jimmy to do, good for his soul. I don't know enough about his friendship with Ronnie, but as an outsider, I would think he wishes he was closer to Ronnie in his last days. This could be a good thing for him.
I think fans would like to see him again. Wonder if anyone else has though of him. . .

Hey guys, If they are going to do the late 2009 Europe tour (which I had a ticket for, but could never use ), then I hope they honor all the dates that was planned back then?
I had my ticket for Dec 9, 2009 in Stockholm. Then The King got that stupid cancer.
Will these guys come to Sweden to play?
Or better yet Stockholm? |

Be nice to see. I know it's not Ronnie, but I guess it's keeping Ronnie's music alive. Nothing better then rockin out in London on Friday night with some heavy metal beers.
Gona be odd though listening to tobby Jepson. A good singer and I remember him first breaking out with his first band Little Angels and what a top song 'Little Angel' is. Never thought he would be doing Ronnies songs. Oh well I guess it's the same as Ricky Warwick doing Phil Lynott in Thin lizzy.
Anway people see you at the Islington Accademy - London on Friday 17th.. Anyone going? |
