Thanks found them there. What's the deal with the double album though, I heard there is some sound issues with it, is it still the way to go to get the last two albums?

The sound quality is fine. Some people think its a little thin sounding but i dont hear it..........i think its all about personal taste. I have the double album on cd and think its great! I have the first album on casette and the cd sounds better. I recorded my casette onto cd and it sounds fab!

There were several Elf tracks better than Rainbow...Wonderworld was the finest Elf track ever laid down on vinyl. In fact this song is one of Ronnie`s finest ever, the only thing about Elf was they didn`t seem to know which direction to go in very often.
The first debut album I think was the best, Dave Rock Feinstein added to this, a much more hard rock orientated album.
Steve Edwards was a great replacement but the thing about Elf was they were a real cracking band.
It all gelled with a great chemistry and Gary Driscoll/Hammer Man as they used to call him was a friggin brilliant drummer.
But the albums were a real mix and not fully clear in which direction they wanted to go in. Mickey Lee Soule probably prefered the honky tonk influences and I think Ronnie wanted a more hard rock approach. Still Elf were a right tight combo, PowerKnight Twisted Evil

I'm out of town for the weekend, but my new RJD the Elf albums CD came while I was away, cant wait to tear the package off and put it in the player as soon as I get home.

I never used to like the older material, I was always Metal or nothing, but in my old age I have grown appreciative of the Elf and Rainbow years in Ronnies career. I have also grown very fond of the 50s and 60s stuff as well. I guess its official, I'm an old man now Laughing

Got home tore open the CD and am loving every song on it. I actually believe these guys would have been Huge if Blackmore hadn't stepped in and turned them into Rainbow, then fire them all to move things in his direction. Its Bluesy Rock at its Best. For all the Dio Fans that woder what Ronnie would sound like singing Blues/Southern Rock, get the Elf stuff, its Awesome.

Been Cranking it for the last two days, and I'm still just in Awe of the band itself. Ronnie singing with this band obviously is what made me buy this, but the rest of the guys are very good players, and compliment him very well in this style of music. Makes me wonder how things would have gone, if Ronnie hadnt decided to go with Ritchie

When I first heard the Elf songs, I could not believe my ears.

It's all so different from the 'Dio' I was aware of in his solo band.

So many good songs....Streetwalker is awesome!

First got the elf tapes long time ago while still in high school totally hated them but still kept em am i glad I did!!Favorite song has to be Rock n Chair Rock N Roll Blues love that tune above all others also later bought first elf cd and dig coming back for you!! Cool
