Do you think Dios work in Elf was better then his solo career and Heaven and Hell? _________________ Ronnie James Dio is a legend |

Nah, I like metal too much! Elf did have some pretty good stuff though _________________ So if a stranger sees you

| He was great in all of the above, of course. but I mostly prefer the Metal era stuff simply because I mostly prefer Metal. My favorite Elf songs are the ones (like Never More) that are beginning to sound more like his later work. Someone who was more a fan of blues rock, on the other hand, would probably prefer the Elf work. |

Clearly his musical style evovled over the years.
I think the old corny stuff pre-Elf is fun too! |

It's hard to say one is better than the other b/c the style of music is so different. It boils down to preference.
I have learned that I prefer the nuanced and melodic ronnie and performances from elf and rainbow, however, this doesn't mean that either one is 'better.'
Dio was more successful w/Dio. Elf got Ronnie to Rainbow. _________________ "Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper." - RJD |

I've got a few Ronnie Dio and the Prophets tracks that come up regularly on my iPod mix that is otherwise about 85% Metal.
I would love to see someone's reaction to the incongruity of doo-wop songs suddenly coming up on that mix. (and it would give me an opening to explain why!) |
