If you haven't purchased "Bitten By The Beast" by David Rock Feinstein, by all means do. Its a great album.

On Ronnie's song "Metal Will Never Die" I am hearing conflicting reports as to when the vocals were recorded. Some reports are saying a month before Ronie passed away but I swear i heard an interview with David Feinstein that said they were recorded 2 years ago.

Does anyone know the answer?

Sean

Feinstein said that the vocals were laid down two years (in another report 1.5 years) ago when Ronne came to Cortland more frequently because his mother was ill.
I read in a report about a Dio festival show in germany in 2006 that his mother had just passed away, so probably Rockīs memory is wrong here.
In another report on the The Rods homepage a co-producer said that they worked on a new album in 2006 and that Ronnie did sing some voacals.
My guess is, that the song has been recordet then (at least for the first time).
Probably Ronnie laid down completely new vocals for it early this year - who knows ... but in March Wendy said that Rock and Ronnie went to the studio to master Rocks album. In that case the song must have been completed by March.
Rock remembered in an interview just lately that in March Ronnie told him to bring the parts for the song with him when he comes to California and that heīd introduce him to the engineer. So the parts for the song should have been ready by then.
But then again, Ronnie might have decided to sing his part again upon hearing the older version and finding it didnīt meet his expectations.
At least in the latter case the song would have been his last recording indeed.

I went to download the DIO song at Amazon downloads...you can get all of the songs from the cd as downloads but not the song with Ronnie James Dio, I am not interested in the other songs to be honest or the cd Confused

I will wait ....till they release it as a download, I am NOT buying this cd for just one song... Mad
The new Feinstein cd is something awful Confused
If the cd did not have Metal Will Never Die it would be another case of dumbing down of Heavy Metal Mad

Totally disagree. I really like the guitar sounds on this cd.

We have this topic on this page.... Wink

Third Wish cd is amazing this cd offers nothing new, its boring and the production is terrible.
Sorry I am off topic...this section is not about
Feinstein but the DIO song....which I do LOVE!
But no matter how much I love DIO, I won't buy a crap cd just for 1 song. Razz

Folks at Niji please release this song so folks can buy it, many are not interested in the buying the album.
Not releasing it just makes folks seek it out as a illegal download Exclamation

I don't want to sound like a reviewer and mean no disrespect, but the rest of the album is terrible. Sounds nothing like anything Dio ever did. I don't even know how to describe it. But it is not anything I want in my collection.
