Life Eternity

As our heart breaks we can not see, the reason that Ronnie left us, without him we grieve.

If we could, we would bring him back, One hour, One minute to see him at last.

We would walk up to heaven, to the golden stair, to God's throne, and ask his repair.

Restore him we would ask him, "Please God, Oh Lord."

We can not seem to carry on.

Without him we are lost, it is so hard.

We would give our life for one Hour, one Day, one Night.

We would give anything for him to be alright.

We would say God let him Love us again, show his face and embrace us again.

We miss him and Love him, to our grief there's no end.

But God said to us,

"Dears I know you will see him again,

when your time comes you will see him

and then,

There will be no more tears, no sorrow, no pain, there is no room here for human disgrace, here in this Heavenly place.

Here in my arms with a Loving Embrace.

So do not cry, it is ok, I will take care of him, while you are away.

And when you come here you will see,

him waiting for right here, along with me.

No tears do cry, we don't have them here,

and soon your sadness will disappear.

Cry not for him, for he is in you, now he lives forever,

He live in you.

He lives in you and those to come. He is immortal and live on and on.

Here in your heart he live with you, He gave it to you as I did his too.

We all are one and you will see, I gave him and you, Life Eternity.

Now go back to where you came, and live your life as if you were He.

Do all the things He wanted you to, and remember we will be waiting,

right here for you."

By Lorina Bolig

I dedicate this poem to all who Loved Ronnie.

Well as much as I still can't believe in any God, I have to say this is really beautiful! Smile

They are very beautiful words but unfortunately (and I will probably get into trouble again for this) it is all make-believe. Ronnie didn't believe in any of this either which you would know if you have watched any of the interviews where he discusses his religious beliefs (or his lack of). I'm sure Ronnie would rather still be here rocking than sitting up there in the clouds watching us all back down here. To me it is a very nonsensical way of looking at things but I suppose if it helps some people cope with the grim reality then go for it.

Here is part of an interveiw with Maor Appelbaum of Alternative-Zine.com had this interesting interview with Ronnie James Dio, just a few weeks before Dio's final show on the 2005 summer tour ending in Tel-Aviv, Israel on the 29th of October 2005

Maor: are you a religious person or a spiritual person?

Ronnie: I'm not an incredibly religious person, I was brought up as catholic, and in very early part of my life I felt I didn't have to go to church to deal with what the choice of god might be, and I felt In my real life anyway, that they teach you more how to fear then how to love and that you should be afraid of god because god will punish you, or that need to be afraid from the things that you do because it will end in disaster for you, I think that put me off right away I wanted to make my own choices, so my own choices are that I believe that god and the devil, good and evil, are in all of us and that this is our own choice to make, this out heaven and hell right here where we live now, and that's kinda my religious belief , but I don’t follow a religion, I believe you should be as good a person you possibly can and your rewards would be given to you on this earth.

Sounds to us Ronnie did believe in God and the Devil. Good and Evil. And as Ronnie once put it, "The answer lies between all good and bad."

I don't want to start any arguments but I interpret Ronnie's words as meaning he doesn't believe in God and the Devil as real entities but as just representing the good and evil that are inside each one of us and Heaven and Hell represent what life can be like on earth sometimes.

I also recall him saying that he thought the concept of Heaven as a place to hang out forever or Hell as a place to suffer forever was ridiculous.

You are free to believe what you want. That was Ronnie's message also. Believe what you want, it is your choice. We interpret it differently, but we can agree to disagree. We respect your interpretation, but have to disagree. No arguments just choice.

The poem was not meant to offend. It was to comfort those who Love Ronnie.

Ronnie, we feel, believed there was both God and the devil and they are in all of us. Both Good and Evil in all of us and it is our choice to be Good or Evil. Ronnie and Wendy chose to be outstanding human beings and he was the best human being we have ever known, He was Good on his own, without religion. But believed in both. Not only this, why would anyone want to go to Israel to the Western Wall if he did not believe? Ronnie did go to Israel and visited the Wall.

What really makes me sad is that a beautiful poem one of our members was so very kind to share with everybody has turned into a debate about one man's beliefs.

I'm tempted to close this topic.

I think you might both agree that Ronnie believed in something much bigger than himself, whatever name you want to attach to it.

Just my two cents for what it's worth.

being American and religious as well means that intelligent, un-biased, independent thought would be impossible for you to achieve.

That is not very Nice, I might be one or two of those things Very Happy

Not going to debate the issue, but would like to see us all get along no matter what each of us believes.

Lets focus on the poem, and the tribute it represents.

PS I love Australia, and would love to visit someday. I actually got accepted a few years back to move to Australia, and get a work Visa. The family wouldnt go though, so I dropped the idea, but would still love to see it someday.

Now back on topic!

Ronnie said that he was not a religious person, just because he only knew about Catholic teaching.
He didn't follow the teaching of church which tries to controll people under their power. Of course God does not punish us, there's no hell. That's just Western church makes people believe.

What you've done will return to you. Good or bad.
In Eastern world, there is a belief that there're good and evil here, so we need to walk on the center of the life road by balancing our mind, body and soul. That's the same as what Ronnie said.
We try to be good, see good, do good.

And also, God is one. No matter which God or Devine souls you believe in like Jesus, Mohammed, Shiva, Buddha, they are all the same in different forms.
This is also what Ronnie said in a song called "WE ROCK".
"We pray to someone, But when it's said and done, it's really all the same, with just a different name".

Our only religion is nothing but love. Just love is our religion.
God includes everything and anything except everything.
Everything you see, and we all are God.

And Eastern people normally believe that souls are travelling from body to body.
So Ronnie just goes out from his physical body and move to another room.
But his soul never dies. It is not just a fable, it is true.
You may not see him in a physical form, but he still exists. No doubt about that.

AND if you can believe in this way, you will get a great relief.

Well... sorry for my poor English. Ha ha.

To Everybody

I'm sorry - and that was a bit mean (to the Americans) but it was meant tongue in cheek. I don't want to carry on with this debate either and I admit that it was very wrong of me to speak for Ronnie - I had no right to do that.

I feel affection for everybody who posts here and I don't want to cause any upset. I said in my first post - if you find the thought of Heaven comforting go for it. The only problem I have is that this is a site that celebrates a great heavy metal singer so I don't see why religion has to come into it - us athiests never mention our lack of belief in our posts, we just say how much we loved Ronnie and how we want to share our feelings with all the other members who are suffering.

Poems can be beautiful things but why does God have to be dragged into everything. There are many athiests out here who get offended and don't want to hear about it - just as much as religious people get offended and don't want to have our views thrust upon them (which we never, ever do). I think the religious people should give that some real thought - how would they like it if we wrote poems and always dropped in lines about how God doesn't exist etc. Maybe we should all try to be more like Ronnie - he never mentioned religion unless asked about it and then was always very diplomatic in his reply.

As they say - never discuss religion or politics, it will always cause an argument. Lets just stick to our love of Ronnie and heavy metal music - that's what has drawn us all together.

Love

Melanie

I guess ,Ronnie would have liked a sophisticated discussion about religion ,believing and notbelieving.Even if he wouldn't have been the world's best metalsinger ,he was a man I simply would have liked to talk to.
