Jimi Hendrix told me long ago that I would never
have to listen to surf music ever again.

And yet in the year 2009, the quiffy bands are
still being discussed. Confused

Cool While Queen were a great band ( very innovative ) I can't put them above Led Zeppelin. Zep has just too many of my fav songs! I mean "Whole Lotta Love" vs "Crazy little thing called Love." No contest!

Or what about ''Whole Lotta Love'' v ''Bohemian Rhapsody'' or ''Now I'm Here" Smile
Both great bands but I get bored silly after a while listening to Led Zeppelin but not with Queen.
But I grew up listening to Queen more than Led Zeppelin.

I was trying to think of why I picked Zeppelin.....I do like zep more, but was trying to be objective.....

Then I played "In My Time of Dying".......That did it!!!

Each to thier own folks ,

But sorry its Queen hands down for me , i was lucky to see Queen play (Live) 3 times in the 80s with freddie mercury & was blown away .

1st . Works Tour 1984 Wembley Arena / London
2nd . Magic Tour 1986 Wembley Stadium / London
3rd . Magic Tour 1986 Knebworth Park ( Freddie,s Last Show )

I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY - Brian May,s Brighton Rock Guitar solo :

I'm going to have to say both.

It's kind of like asking me which I like better, apple pie or chocolate cake. You can't really compare the two, because they are both great for different reasons.

This was almost a tough choice for me.

I picked Led Zeppelin b/c their body of work as a whole is better.

Freddie from Queen, like Ronnie is one of the greatest vocalists that ever lived. However, I don't like all the work Freddie did. Nonetheless, the way Freddie multitracked and harmonized w/his own voice was nothing short of legendary.

Recently I heard Robert Plant sing on the Today show. It wasn't anything out of this world, but he sounded ok. Still, no remarkable high notes in there. And gosh, Robert needs to drop 50-60lbs.

Queen for me.....Freddie was just the most incredible singer. I like Zep dont get me wrong but I quickly tire of the self indulgence many of their songs have........that said Bonham was a god!

i never liked queen, they are overrated, Zepps are classical band although there are bands that i like most then LZ, Freddie was good but c'mon there are many better singers acctually and in these days(70's,80's), he was'n so good at live performances at all

Might as well ask who is better Dio or Limp Bisquit?

LOL!

Yeah, I gotta agree, Bob.
Zep all the way.

They forged a new sound, were the co-architects of metal as we know it, and probably inspired more bands (in more ways than one) than Queen ever did.
