The best hard rock album ever.
10 out of 10.
Great classics form start to end. Ronnie, Cozy , Ritchie, Jimmy and Tony at their best, in peak form.
Tarot Woman, Starstruck, Stargazer....
Man, what an album..... |

I agree. This was the first time I heard Ronnie back in 1987 on an old tape recorder i was a blackmore fan but i remember saying wow when i heard Ronnie sing Tarot Woman. _________________ Trying to Catch the Sun |

My favourite as well.
But listen to Ronnie's view on this album, especially "the second side" (Light in the Black and Stargazer):
From 6:57->

"This album is a bunch of self indulgent shit on the second side, as far as I'm concerned".
Well, I disagree. |

| Maybe if I'd had to put up with Blackmore while they were recording Stargazer and Light in the Black, that would have interfered with the amount of awesome that I think those two songs contain. |

Stargazer is mind blowing. The authentic analog tone from that era is just beautiful. I mean, part of me feels that this is the 'warmest' tone w/Dio's voice ever.
His performance is just mind blowing.
The energy level in this song is off the hook in general. The quality is timeless like the beatles white album. _________________ "Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper." - RJD |

Monumental...the benchmark of all albums, Stargazer stands forever etched in stone and the gauntlet who dares to take on this extraordinary track. Never heard anything like it since and I really doubt this will ever be equalled. A real landmark a fantasy line up that was a reality, mindblowing, PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

Absolutely brilliant album! Not a weak track on the album. Even the so-called weak tracks Do You Close Your Eyes and Run with the Wolf are absolutely wonderful. I just wish it had more tracks on it, although some of my most favorite albums of all time only have 5 or 6 tracks on them as well. Like Rush's Caress of Steel and Pink Floyd's Animals. _________________ So if a stranger sees you

Some have said it had weak tracks on it??? Well if those were weak tracks they must have been listening to something else! Honestly side one is incredible with side two to go, PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

I believe that this line-up should be consider as one of the best bands that rock music ever had. Something that make me wonder what would be the rock bands countdown now if they stayed together for more years. _________________ Video games are bad for you? Certainly Rainbow is by definition classic rock, and amazing historic art. _________________ "Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper." - RJD |

| Absolutely adore this album, especially the "rough mix" version - far better bass & not as "tinny" as the final mix. |
