Again this Dio album I really like and is very underrated by most Dio fans who dislike it. Tracy G brought in a very grungy sound in on this one and tracks like Don`t Tell The Kids is awesome stuff.
But I can`t understand why he seemed set on sounding very Iommish on this album and his sound was a little different on Strange Highways. PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

Nice to know, that I'm not the only one who thought this could be a Sabbath album, Tracy G just has that Iommi tone on this album, these lyrics just wouldn't fit on Sabbath record though. _________________ So if a stranger sees you

It's interesting that it was a Japanese only track, since it had to have been at least partly inspired by the uniquely-American anti-Metal religious hysteria of the 80's. |

Great overall record, just very unconventional from Dio. Very strange having all those heavy tracks, then ending with This is your Life. _________________ So if a stranger sees you

given the fact that it was the same line-up that recorded the AWESOME "Strange Highways", I had high hopes.
I was disappointed, initially. the only track I really liked was "This Is Your Life".
the album has kind of grown on me over the years.
"God Hates Heavy Metal" is a great song.
found the demos a few weeks ago, good stuff, especially "This Is Your Life". |

I do wish they'd do a re-release of various rare and bonus tracks (like God Hates Heavy Metal). I know Ronnie wouldn't want demo versions of anything officially released-- but it would nice to see bonus tracks that were deemed fit for release have greater availability.
(I'd love to have God Hates Heavy Metal, but right now on Amazon that means $70 for a CD that duplicates a CD I already own, except for that one song) |
