At last an all penned Dio/Sabbath/Heaven and Hell album, I`m not that hot with Ronnie singing the Ozzy stuff. In the past they could have covered some faster paced Sabbath/Ozzy stuff like Symptom Of The Universe. This could have been very interesting, PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

I recall being BLOWN AWAY over 20 years ago hearing Ronnie do the Sab covers of Ozzy's era with the band. I totally fancy him as a level above Ozzy in every regard. Ozzy's talent was more wild personality based than a beautiful knock your socks off voice.
I have heard Dio decry the old 'LIVE EVIL' album as a 'piece of shit,' which shocked me. I guess that they had personal issues with the mixing, but I freaking loved this album. Ronnie does some alternate singing in Children of the Sea which is amazing. There are also parts in the Heaven and Hell track which knock my socks off.
I know I'm biased because I naturally prefer Dio, but I still think Dio did a better job at the older classic sab songs. _________________ "Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper." - RJD |

I was listening to this album when I got the news that Ronnie had died
I had only half taken of the headphones when my BF came into the room, because I thought he was just giving me a "15 min to dinner" warning. But he broke the news, saying a cousin of his had posted it on Facebook.
It was incredibly surreal hearing Ronnies voice in one ear, and the news that he had died that morning in the other . "But... he can't be gone! I'm listening to his voice right now!" |

I watched this concert DVD just the other night. I had the house to myself and decided it would be a great time to relive some memories. I must admit to more than a few tears in the course of watching the DVD...it was only a year ago I was at that unforgettable concert in Albuquerque. That is a strange feeling, but I am grateful beyond words for those memories!
Anyway, this is a great set and it was masterfully performed. I am so glad this lineup got back together. _________________ "You'll never make me be like you. I'm Master of the Moon!" |

Me too. (Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of the one time I saw them play live together. Very glad I had that chance. All of them were fantastic.) |

Just picked up the DVD yesterday, what can I say? Crystal clear production, awesome music! Everything was perfect, plus I picked it up for 6 bucks, best purchase I've made in a while! Have the cd on my list to get just haven't picked it up, I'm sure the quality is the same. _________________ So if a stranger sees you
