Too bad Ronnie's voice was crap on that show. I remember seeing an interview with him where washed his hands of the video, to his understanding there was only going to be a live album.
I haven't seen the video for some time, but I remember cringing when I saw it. I had too google Ronnie to see how he sounded live at the time, and I found a couple of clips from the H&H tour 2007. And I remember thinking thank God, that night was a one off, he's still got it!
Too bad that the show was shot that night... _________________ Check out my scans of classic DIO albums (and other bands) at http://ximmix.mixeriksson.com

I could have sworn I saw an interview where it was the other way 'round-- he had only planned on it being a DVD, and wasn't thrilled that the record company had released it as a CD as well. |

You may be right, perhaps I remember it wrong... _________________ Check out my scans of classic DIO albums (and other bands) at http://ximmix.mixeriksson.com

The only annoying thing about these Blu-Ray re-releases is you do not get any extras as far as I know only the quality of the Blu-Ray format...unless I`m mistaken? PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

Hello... Although this may have been touched on before, does anybody know why ronnies voice sounded so different that day ? cold, allergies, too many shows prior to that , etc ? The melodies and vocal deliveries were strong as usual with no cracking and he wasent sniffing his nose or anything but his voice sounded so different . I remember thinking ,( as he hadn't come to my city mpls, mn for MOM ) is his voice finally going/changing like so many other singers from the era ?
I do love ,love, love the dvd though , the set list, and especially the camera work !! easily my favorite live footage of dio !
I will have to buy the blu ray. If its done right, I will be able to count the pores on ronnies face, LOL. |

in the interviews in the bonus feature you can clearly hear that Ronnie has a cold.
after the Oslo gig in 2008 I talked to Ronnie's sound guy, and he did confirm that Ronnie indeed had a bad cold at the time of the filming of "Holy Diver Live", but not one for cancelling shows, he soldiered on. |
