I see that Ozzy and Iommi have settled their argument about the Black Sabbath name, who owns what. I guess that is a good thing, that they aren't fighting anymore. Seems too close to Ronnie's passing for me.
I don't hope that that means more Ozzy and Black Sabbath reunions. But without Ronnie, I don't know what Iommi would play or whom with.

Of course Ozzy settled, he doesn't have Ronnie to worry about anymore... When your competition is no longer a threat, there isn't much to argue over any more..
As for a reunion... I am sure Sharon could use the cash, so he will do it.. Not that it matters.. _________________ http://ladyrock.informe.com/ |

They have both said they wouldn't mind an Ozzy Sabbath Reunion. I think I see it in the future, unlike a lot of people here, I quite like the Ozzy Sabbath lineup as well, not as well as with Ronnie though. Maybe Tony Martin will come back to Sabbath? Who knows really. _________________ So if a stranger sees you

I don't think it's so much that people here don't like the Ozzy Sabbath line-up or their songs, I think it has more to do with simply not liking Ozzy.
..I just found out the other week that the Blizzard of Ozz CD I own, isn't the original recordings ..something that I am still extremely annoyed about ...and because of that I am not an Ozzy fan and he has lost any respect I had for him. I really hope there isn't another reunion with him. _________________ you put your hope into the sky

piracy of life,
Yes, they replaced the original drum and bass a few years back to avoid the royalties they had to pay.
Now, in November, they are rereleasing them in the original form, along in a boxed set of new songs not released before with Randy Rhoads, studio out takes, and 2 concerts filmed with Randy Rhoads playing. Supposed to from the Blizzard of Ozz tour and the Diary of a Madman tour. Should be nice to finally see some footage of Randy.
Somehow, I keep having to buy Blizzard and Diary every 5 years.

That's also Sharon's fault not Ozzy, Ozzy even said that he didn't want to do that but Sharon had it done. Yeah, I can't wait for the new rererelease of Blizzard and Diary. _________________ So if a stranger sees you

I have said before...I had no interest in Black Sabbath until DIO joined them.
No disrespect to the Ozzy/Sabbath fans but the music for me sounded dated and sometimes boring as hell.
Deep Purple's In Rock v Black Sabbath first album are night and day.
If Ozzy records with Sabbath...it will be another case of him dumbing down Metal for buck$
If Black Sabbath must go on...please find another singer!!
How about Robert Lowe?
If you don't know him, Candlemass or Solitude Aeturnus

Everyone knows in their hearts that an Ozzy Sabbath line up would be purely about the money.
Honestly I was sad that the last couple of tours with Dio produced a shorter setlist which relied on the same songs (pretty much) on each trip out.....but it was Ronnie fronting them so I took it and loved it.
If Ozzy gets his claws back in you can guarantee an 8 song set of the same old same old.....I would have no interest in that.
I think it would be a backward step for Iommi.........but honestly I think the money is likely to make it happen, but I hope not! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

I've always found Ozzy's voice to be a little flat... |

I heard about this.
Seriously sketchy to the max. Has anyone ever done this before?
I don't like bands that tour for money.
I like bands that tour b/c you can hear the music is real and the personal connections are real.
Whatever comes, I will not be going to see the B.Sabbath Reunion with Ozzy. It's too monetarily contrived.
Their last stint with Ronnie did not feel like a greedy endeavor. _________________ "Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper." - RJD |

Totally agree with you DioInfinitum
Heaven and Hell was unfinished business after Dehumanizer and the quality of the songs proved that. |

Sonic Excess: After the tragic death of Ronnie James Dio, the remaining members of HEAVEN & HELL will perform the Dio tribute show and won't carry on after that. Tony Iommi said, in a British newspaper, that there would be discussions between he and Geezer Butler about BLACK SABBATH. Can you give us any insight?
Ward: The only thing I know, and I have talked with Tony... Well, the only person I haven't spoken with is Geezer, but that is because he prefers e-mail to the telephone, and Ozzy called me yesterday. I think the statements have been made into a little bit of a cake. I saw the statements only last night on BLABBERMOUTH.NET, when I got home from the studio. Where Ozzy's at, with wanting to tour with BLACK SABBATH is that Ozzy has been in his place for a long time and says, "I'm never going to say never." I have the same attitude. My quotes would be, "I never want to say never." I'm in the same place. Tony has a completely open mind to the possibility of touring with SABBATH again. I think what's happening is that some people have hooked into that and written a story out of it. I think realistically, right now, I can't see where it would be a possibility, with Ozzy on tour for the next 18 months and having a new record out that's great. I've got a new record, and I know that Tony has other things he wants to do musically, and Geezer also. We might all agree to it, but when it would happen, I just don't know. Other than those few comments, I just don't know about a SABBATH tour anywhere near in the future. Tony has already stated that he doesn't want to talk about it until he finishes that concert for Ronnie in London. It would be great, but I don't know where any of it sits right now. It's like the press has gotten it and is kindling the fire before anything has been said. I talk to Ozzy all the time, and he hasn't mentioned shit to me about SABBATH.
Maybe thats becoz Vinny is getting the job |

Yes, when I saw them in concert, it was more like seeing old friends play music for the pure enjoyment of it and for being together as friends. They are the masters, and they respected each other for their place in music/metal history.
I cannot say the same for a reunion with Ozzy.
