Anneke Van Giersbergen (AGUA DE ANNIQUE, ex-THE GATHERING) will release a new live album, "Live In Europe", on October 15. She states, "The vast majority of the 12 songs were recorded during our spring 2010 tour in France and Spain. The touring band consisted of; Ruud Jolie (guitar), Jacques de Haard (bass) and Rob Snijders (drums). Yours truly sang, shook her booty and played piano and guitar. My front-of-house engineer Erik-Jan Dodd recorded and mixed the album. I'm really excited that the energy of a live show is captured well on this release!

"There will be three brand new up-tempo songs on it: 'Fury', 'Laugh It Out' and a song called 'Who I Am'. I wrote that one together with Devin Townsend while we were working on his 'Addicted' album. I've also re-recorded an old favorite of mine: 'Shrink'. I wrote this song when I was 19 years old and I first recorded it for a demo I made in 1992. It ended up on THE GATHERING's album 'Nighttime Birds' (1997) and now it's revived on 'Live in Europe'. It's a song dear to my heart and I'm proud to share it with you in a new arrangement.

"I had already chosen a picture for the album cover when Mehmet Turgut sent me a photo from a shoot I did with him in Turkey earlier this year. I fell in love with that shot instantly! Arda Aktas made a beautiful cover design."

Anneke Van Giersbergen will embark on a Dutch tour on October 15 in support of the upcoming live CD.

"Wonder" comes off ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN & AGUA DE ANNIQUE's third album, "In Your Room", which was released on October 30, 2009. The 12-song effort was written entirely by Anneke except for two tracks: "Just Fine" was co-written with Devin Townsend and "Adore" was composed by AGUA DE ANNIQUE bassist Jacques de Haard and Cyril Crutz.

AGUA DE ANNIQUE has released three albums so far: "Air" (2007), "Pure Air" (2009) and "In Your Room" (2009).

"Skintight", the new video from the Norwegian singer Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES, ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY), can be viewed below. The clip was shot last month with director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among many others.
"Skintight" is the title track of Liv's new solo album, which will be released via Napalm Records on the following dates:
Aug. 27 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland
Aug. 30 - Rest of Europe
Sep. 14 - USA, Canada
The "Skintight" digital-download single will be released worldwide on August 6.

The CD was recorded at Mastersound Studio and the artwork (see below) was created by Stefan Heilemann.
Liv previously stated about the new LP, "My main aim is to release an album which goes directly under your skin, and into your hearts. Being authentic, but perhaps not flawless, is the philosophy I follow artistically. It is not necessary to tune and shape a singing voice when it comes from the heart, from deep within. This is why I chose the title 'Skintight'.
"Most recordings were done 'in one go,' i.e. record a complete song without breaks. Moreover, we've kept and paid attention to the natural processes which take place during singing, like breathing, movements of the lips, emotional expression and strength etc. All this makes the album authentic, real, and direct. The music is played with only a few, however, original instruments.
"[It is] a very down-to-earth album, and absolutely 'real,' like as if you were sitting next to me and I would sing a song to you.
"All songs have been written by Torsten Bauer, and myself. [Liv's husband] Alexander Krull [ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES] produced the album.
"My lyrics tell about my childhood ('One of Them', 'Wonders'), and my observations of the fast, cold, superficial and grey society of the masses ('The Rarest Flower', 'Boy at the Window').
"'Skintight' is dedicated to the children of this world — our future. Children embody real, true and endless love; love towards nature, and love between human beings.
"This is an album which will open your hearts."

TRISTANIA: 'Special Happenings' Planned For 'Rubicon' Release Party

The September 25, 2010 release party in Stavanger, Norway for TRISTANIA's sixth album, "Rubicon", will feature a range of special happenings for the band's loyal fans. Vocalist Østen Bergøy will make possibly his final appearance with the band, and violin virtuoso Pete Johansen will join the group on stage for the first time. In addition, TRISTANIA's members have decided to give fans coming to the release party from abroad "some very special treats."

Commented TRISTANIA: "All fans coming from abroad to see our show will be put on the guest list, giving [them] free entrance to the gig. They are also invited to a very special meet-and-greet session at our rehearsal room in Stavanger on the evening before the release party, Friday 24th."

"Judgement", the third album from Ashland, Kentucky based hard rockers HYDROGYN, will be released on October 25 in Europe and October 26 in the rest of the world. The CD will be made available via Bad Reputation out of Paris, France for Europe and Rapid Fire Global Music in the States and rest of the world. Each of the two versions of the album will contain different artwork and different bonus tracks.

HYDROGYN recently parted ways with guitarist Jeff Young (ex-MEGADETH). The band's frontwoman, Julie Westlake, stated about Young's exit from the group, "After five months of recording the new [HYDROGYN] album ['Judgement'] with Jeff, it has become very obvious that our personalities and work ethic are very different. I worked alongside Jeff to complete three songs that he brought in for the album, and I must say, I'm just not pleased. Knowing it would have been an argument if anything was said, and trying to give him the opportunity to take part in the writing of the album, as the release date draws near, I just don't want them on the album because I don't think they are strong enough, and knowing what kind of tension it would cause, I just really feel that this is just not a good fit."

Former MEGADETH/BLACK LABEL SOCIETY bassist James Lomenzo played bass on "Judgement" but will not be part of HYDROGYN's touring lineup when the band hits the road in support of the new CD
