|
I vaguely remember seeing on Ronnie's wikipedia article that an autobiography was in the works.
With that said, are there still any plans to put it, or something along those lines out? It's my understanding that Ronnie himself was working on it.
Unfortunately, Ronnie can no longer complete it. Will another writer of fine caliber eventually take up the mantle, and present the Dio loyal with the centerpiece of Ronnie's legacy? _________________ Stand up and shout! |

I dunno, but I'll ask my contacts and get back to you on this. _________________

Thanks!
I would love to see a book about Dio himself. ^^ Though I must agree, it would have been splendid to have it from the man himself. Ronnie is a genius with words, so were this to come to light, such a writer would have to be splendid in their own right, and be able to do Ronnie's story justice. _________________ Stand up and shout! |

Hey Rhonda
Any news on this? I for one was really excited about the idea of a Bio from the great man......and would still love to have it, even if they later section was written by Wendy or someone else connected to Ronnie.
Ronnie deserves to have his story told and I am sure it would be a real seller......maybe something for Wendy and Dean at Niji to look into?
Regards

Wendy would seem to be the logical person to write/finish such a book, with help from past bandmates etc. There never has been any Dio biography that I know of, not even a decent unauthorized one. I'd be first in line for that! _________________ FINIS PER SOMNIVM REPERIO TIBI SACRA COR VENEFICVS OSTIVM AVRVM. |

Thanks for finding that out Rhonda - appreciate it. I am aware that there is a lot of other stuff going on at Niji right now so I can wait......but I will be keeping an eye on news for this - it would be the present of all presents for me! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

| I would LOVE to see an authorized biography, especially if parts of it were autobiography, if it's true he was starting to work on one before he died. Looking forward to more news on this. |

| A biography has been made, you guys. It's called "A Light beyond the Black: a Biography of Ronnie James Dio." It's basically his story told from his band mates' points of view. I've never read it myself, but I've been looking for it. It's quite hard to find outside of amazon.com. |

INCORRECT INFO!

| The prolific Martin Popoff's latest book takes on one of the greatest vocalists in metal, Ronnie James Dio. The book is not meant to be a biography of Dio, the person. Instead it is a biography of the band Dio and their music. Popoff has already written a book about Rainbow, another band Dio was a member of, and there are many books out there about Black Sabbath. |

Thanks, everyone! ^_^
Rhonda: and many thanks to you.
I think we're all pretty excited about the possible prospect of such a thing, should such indeed come to pass. But yes, as stated, I imagine much is currently on the plate for Niji at this point in time. Still, I'll be right with you all, eagerly awaiting news of all things Dio. ^_^ _________________ Stand up and shout! |
