Movin' On Down The Line
Wounded Bird
God's Got It

On this album we also have the first appearance of the 2 new members Luther Dickinson (nothing to do with Bruce) and the keyboard man Adam MacDougall.

The first names that will be included in the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 are now published.

Among many others we will see Leonard Cohen, John Mellencamp, The Ventures and Madonna!!

A major requirement so an artist will be proposed to enter the Hall of Fame is to recording albums for the last 25 years. Some of the names that were "cut" from the list are Beastie Boys and Donna Summer.

The ceremony will take place at the 10th of March in the New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Last Year some of the names that were inducted in the Hall of Fame are Patti Smith, R.E.M, The Ronettes, Grandmaster Flash and Van Halen.

I will post a pic of that when I can get to it, but the big thing is that he told me, he is working on a new Testament Reunion CD. Cant wait it should be Awesome!!! Very Happy He is a really nice guy. I told him I was going to sing Mel Torme tunes on his next Jazz CD Laughing He just laughed Laughing

Major changes in the Dodheimsgard (Dhg) band. The lead singer Kvohst has published his willing to leave the band. He said that after a very difficult month he decided that it is the best to leave the band.

He also said : "My work in DHG and on 'Supervillain Outcast' has been a labor of love but, unfortunately, love, as Bukowski once said, can often be like trying to carry a full garbage can on your back over a rushing river of piss" Exclamation Exclamation

ICED EARTH singer Matt Barlow will enter the studio next month to record his vocals for the upcoming PYRAMAZE album, "Immortal". The vocal sessions will be helmed by producer Jim Morris, who has worked with ICED EARTH on the group’s last few releases. The CD will be mixed in March, as the band will once again be utilizing the talents of producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR, MERCENARY).

Barlow — who last month returned to front ICED EARTH as the replacement for Tim "Ripper" Owens — will perform on the upcoming PYRAMAZE album but will not be able to continue on with the band in a full-time position as previously planned.

"PYRAMAZE is an extremely talented group of musicians, whose work is well known in the progressive metal community and will be in high demand in a short time," Barlow said in a statement. "I am happy to say that I will be working with them, if only in a limited term."

PYRAMAZE entered the studio on October 1, 2007 in Haderslev, Denmark to begin recording the follow-up to "Legend of the Bone Carver".

Barlow originally joined PYRAMAZE as the replacement for Lance King who left the band in November 2006.

PYRAMAZE’s latest CD, "Legend of the Bone Carver", was released in 2006 via Massacre Records (Europe) and Nightmare Records (USA and Canada).

Rick Forsgren, the lead singer of the Minneapolis hard rock tribute act ROCKFIST!, got the chance of a lifetime: to rock with his favorite band, QUEENSRŸCHE.

Rick was one of three vocalists that were selected to sing karaoke versions of either "Synchronicity II" (THE POLICE), "Welcome To The Machine" (PINK FLOYD), or "Neon Knights" (BLACK SABBATH) prior to QUEENSRŸCHE’s January 26, 2008 concert at the Myth nightclub in Maplewood, Minnesota. The crowd voted for Rick by their enthusiastic response after he rocked "Neon Knights", and Forsgren got a chance to play the song live with QUEENSRŸCHE during the band’s set.

Watch video footage of the performance below.

For more information on Forsgren’s band ROCKFIST! (which plays "covers of classic and hard rock from the ’80s and more"), visit the group’s MySpace page www.myspace.com/rockfistband

BLACK DEATH drummer Phil Bullard passed away of colon cancer on February 6, 2008 at age 59. Bullard is survived by two daughters (Philicia and Earlicia), four grandchildren (Warren, Curstie, Curtis and Julian) and two sisters (Nicola Ammons and Roberta).
BLACK DEATH was a four piece heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio founded in 1977. The band consisted of lead vocalist/guitarist Siki Spacek, guitarist Greg Hicks, bassist Darrell Harris and Bullard on drums. They are considered to be the first all-black heavy metal band from the U.S. "A great guy who kept us all in line," comments guitarist Greg Hicks. "There never would have been a BLACK DEATH without Phil. He had the fire. There was chemistry from the first time we played." Adds former BLACK DEATH manager Bob Surgent, "I am privileged to have known Phil as a friend and worked with him in BLACK DEATH. I know he’s playing drums with Hendrix. Tears run red."

BLACK DEATH had two songs featured on the 1983 "Cleveland Metal" compilation album and released one self-titled full length album and 7" on Auburn Records in 1984 before fading into obscurity in the late 80s. A double-CD reissue of their original album, with bonus tracks, is near completion and set to be released by Auburn Records this summer. "Phil and I worked very closely together back in the BLACK DEATH years," says Auburn Records president Bill Peters. "He was always a first-class professional, a great drummer, hard worker and loyal friend. Phil was the person behind the scenes who kept the band together during both the good and bad times. He always looked at the bright side of things regardless of the challenges and circumstances we all faced. He never changed and had the same positive energy today with his new project. His smile and laugh will be missed."

Up until his illness forced him to stop playing late last year, Bullard was drumming for Cleveland metal band MANDRAKE, which features guitarist Mike Greene, former BLACK DEATH guitarist Greg Hicks on bass and guitarist/vocalist Tim Greene (ex-DESTINATION, NIGHTCRAWLER). The band plans on finding a new drummer and continuing in Bullard’s honor. "I feel blessed to have played three years with such a great guy", says Mike Greene. "When Phil joined the band, it was all about the music. No drama. Just best friends and band mates." Greene won a contest for a vacation to Montana last year and invited Bullard. "That trip really meant a lot to Phil," says Greene. "I am so glad I was able to do that for him before he left us. He told me he had not had a vacation away from home since his two war tours of ’Nam and that really did not count". Greg Hicks adds, "Phil brought me on board in MANDRAKE to play bass with him towards the end. I had not played bass since the early 80s and was unsure at first but Phil felt strongly we would work good together. A straight-shooter who did not want anyone to feel bad for him. Looking back I now know why he wanted me to play with him for the last time. I did not realize at the time. He covered up his illness from his closest friends and fought his battle courageously. He will definitely be missed."

STEELHEART frontman Miljenko "Mike" Matijevic has issued the following statement regarding the passing of the group's original drummer John Fowler:

"I am deeply sad to say my old friend and the original drummer of STEELHEART, John Fowler, has passed away on Friday March 21 at 11:00 p.m. from a brain aneurism. He will always be with us. We will 'Never Let You Go.'

"John was a true musician, dedicated to his art. I can't remember a time that John didn't have music to fill his day.

"I am happy to have shared the stages throughout the world with him. Every night I would climb his crazy massive drum set to reach down into his world and slap his hand for a great show. It will always be with me.

'Rest in peace my friend; we all love you. Fly with the angels. We'll see you on the other side."

Fowler, who gained notoriety for touring and recording with the band STEELHEART with the 1990 hit song "I'll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)", also dedicated himself to projects such as THE VOODOO JETS, SMOKE, and HIPNOTIC. Fowler also instructed hundreds of drum students in the southern Connecticut region.

Fowler had been on life support in a Connecticut hospital after suffering a brain aneurism last Monday. John's beloved son Sebastian, along with close friends and family, shared his final moments bedside while blasting THE VOODOO JETS track "Spaceman" in the hospital's ICU.

Donations can be made to The Sebastian Fowler ROCKS Memorial Fund on behalf of John's son to the following address:

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, has denied that he is set to replace Scott Weliand in Velvet Revolver, reports GIGWise.com.

Weiland acrimoniously split from the band in April at the conclusion of their European tour.

Since then, there has been much speculation about who would replace the singer, with reports claiming that the band would audition for a new frontman using a Reality TV show.

Speaking to Kerrang, Bennington said that any reports linking him to the position were the result of a misunderstanding.

"I'm friends with all the guys in Velvet Revolver and have played with all of them before. I'm friends with Scott too,” he said.

"I think the rumour that I was going to join Velvet Revolver started because (guitarist) Slash asked me if I'd come play a show with them in Vegas right around the time that Scott left the band.

"Timing-wise, it didn't work out for me, though. Maybe people assumed that invitation meant I was joining the band."

However, Bennington did say that if he was no longer in Linkin Park he would be tempted to join Velvet Revolver.

"If I wasn't in Linkin Park any more and I didn't know Scott, though, I'd say yes. Who wouldn't? The music is great and it would be a really cool opportunity,” he said.

I know this is not METAL news..... Laughing

Quote:
DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

MusicRadar.com: Let's talk about DEF LEPPARD. I understand the band is on a hiatus.

Phil Collen: "Kind of. We getting some new songs together because we want to release something next year. The plan is to be on the road in 2011, so it'd be nice to get some fresh material out there."

MusicRadar.com: How many new songs has the band has written for the new record?

Phil Collen: "At the moment, I've got two. Luckily, everybody in the band writes, so we're never usually lacking for material. And it's not like the burden is placed on just one guy, which is good.

"Our songwriting approach is different from what we used to do. Years ago we used to get in a room and hash things out. These days we write on our own and come into the studio with our demos of finished songs - or mostly finished songs — and we just kind of record 'em. Not all them make the final record. We try to pick the best ones and make well-rounded albums. I still think that's important."

MusicRadar.com: At this early stage, can you speculate as to what the next DEF LEPPARD record will sound like?

Phil Collen: "I think — and I've been saying this for over a year — that the next album needs to be more raw. What I want to avoid is sounding too clinical, too fussed over. Even when Mutt was involved with us, we did manage to sidestep that. You can kill the vibe of the music if you record it over and over again. So yeah, I just want to go in and make a raw record."

MusicRadar.com: What's the status of your side band MAN RAZE? Is it active at the moment?

Phil Collen: "Yeah, we're writing, as well. There's a movie coming out in England about these kids who race through the streets on these high-powered super bikes at, like, 200 miles per hour — really dangerous stuff. I'm not sure what the movie's called, but it explores the whole culture of these kids. So we have a song in it. We did sort of a high-end demo, but we liked it so much that we ended up using it. The track is a bit of a cross between MOTÖRHEAD and THE POLICE, if you can imagine that. It's pretty edgy, but that's the nature of the band, really. We have fun. I think it's important to always have fun if you're playing music. If you're not, well, something's wrong."

So until we have heard samples which may not be until 2011, I will keep the Def Leppard topic closed.
As a Brit...I still can't forgive them for being nominated For 3 CUNTRY MUSIC TELEVISION Awards last year and to play at these awards was a low point in Heavy Metal for me Crying or Very sad
I do this out of respect and the memory of Steve Clark.
