| To me Ronnie's passing is like a massive impact with global shockwaves that come again and again.Ronnie has been to Metal what James Brown has been to soul Musik.I am somehow angry how he has been ignored by the mainstream medias(at least here in Germany),for he just hasn't been an excellent Metal-musician but an excellent musician in general. From Vegas Kings to Heaven and Hell he lived the whole story of rock music. That makes him to me the most underrated musician ever.As we the fans are suffering , how much more must it be for his wife Wendy and all his relatives and personal friends. As far as I know there is still his father Pat.Beside all of our mourning I'd like to mention that it feels good to see how close Fans, musicians and friends are coming with this loss.Somehow like a big,big Familie.I guess Ronnie would have liked it. | You might all know those sci-fi Movies , where someone is caught in a wrong timeline or somekind of an evil mirror universe ,and you hear that guy saying : " This is not right ,this is not my timeline" . This is how I feel since Ronnie's passing. It is something that shouldn't have been happen. This is all so wrong. No ,not him. |

The Masterstroke...
I am with you there....the reality of not seeing Ronnie James Dio perform again, is really heavy on the heart.
He was so loyal to his fans, there is not many artists out there that know the meaning of the word, but with Ronnie James Dio it was part of the whole package.
I bitch and moan all the time about bands, that never come to Scotland, maybe they are scared of our reputation of demanding 110% but it was never a problem for Ronnie James Dio.
No matter where he played in Scotland, folks would travel from all over Scotland to get to the concert and worry later about getting back home. |

@MySweetRonnie: Absolutly,I have my own Theory about the 80s ,that were my teenage years.I have to say I hated the 80s,for I felt it was a coldhearted decade. In my childhood during the 70s I grew up with all those Hippie-values like "peace ,love and understanding " you know and then came the 80s and teenagers began to wear suits and ties and like to dance in cold neon lights ,dissmissing everyone who wasn't able to buy expensive shoes. In heavy metal I saw a movement that carries on the 70s : long hair , the rebellion (against what ever) -let's call it teenage rampage and of course the music. No synthetic plastic sounds ,just vour or five people playing guitar ,bass ,drums and one guy who is belting his heart out. That is how Ronnie's Music became a soundtrack to my life. |

Strange thing happened to me in the end of May. I usually sing Ronnie's most popular songs, such as Stargazer, Holy diver, Rainbow in the dark, but now it was a pretty long time for the previous time I had been singing. But NOW, this time I suddenly started to sing songs such as Give her the gun, Still I'm sad etc., that is to say a little bit unknown Ronnie's songs. I just don't know why I did so. Then next day I nearly fell off the chair when I heard from my vife Ronnie's decease. For a while I could'nt belive her, I mean, I really thought she was joking (althougt I know it is impossible thing for her, or anybody to do so, joking on death) In the night I barely could'nt sleep, I was shocked. And even still now when I listen to his songs, it is hard to belive his decease.... _________________ Expect unexpected, be full of Life, and live it and love it:) And remember, you always win, althought you might lose in love. It's a worth of trying! So try and love again! |

| It was exactly one year ago since I saw Ronnie with Heaven & Hell in Berlin. At one point of the show Ronnie was so fascinated by a swarm of bats that flew over the croud. The concert took place at the Zitadelle Spandau ,which is an old castle. The bats live there in the castlewalls under protection.I saw Ronnie taking a step to Geezer and I could read from his lips : "Bats".It was a special evening I will never forget. |

I was caught off-guard by how much of an impact this has had on me. I mean, I should have been warned by how hard the news of his diagnosis hit me in November. But I've never been good at recognizing and understanding my feelings-- one day last week, I woke up thinking I was done grieving-- and then threw my T-shirt from the memorial into my bag to bring to work with me (since I couldn't wear it) as though it were a kid's security blanket.
My boyfriend is trying to be supportive, but he fundamentally doesn't get the idea of grieving someone you've never met. (All his favorite music has no lyrics or vocals, and all his favorite musicians died before he was born). He's being sympathetic and supportive, but though he tries not to show it, I can tell he's also puzzled.
I called my mom the week before the memorial and told her I was going to fly out there for it. I thought she was going to think I was crazy, but instead she started talking about John Lennon and George Harrison. I was unpleasantly surprised how many people didn't even know who RJD was-- but I was pleasantly surprised by how many of these people were supportive, mentioning musicians who's deaths had (or eventually would have) a similar impact on them.
I'm also very impressed with how wonderful Wendy has been through this whole thing. So helpful in keeping us informed, so generous in providing the public memorial service for us to come to. Two very wonderful people who deserved each other, in a good way. I keep thinking of Wendy and how hard this must be for her-- I mean, if I'm this upset and I never even met him, it's hard for me to imagine how devastating it must be for her. |
