Becoz the release of the new DIAMOND HEAD's 'Live At The BBC' cd, I thought it was time for a topic all about a way of life and not just music.
NWOBHM means New Wave of British Heavy Metal for our younger members Laughing
Some the best bands for me were...Iron Maiden, Saxon, Tygers Of Pan Tang ,Raven ,Diamond Head ,Cheetah , Mama's Boys, Motörhead, Michael Schenker Group, Rock Goddess and Witchfinder General.

I love NWOBHM Smile, I liked the old Maiden, still love Saxon and Raven...
Mötorhead on the other hand I never liked much... can't stand Lemmys voice.
They played at a Metal Christmal Meeting here once, they were the main act. well before they played I was gone Embarassed

I, too love NWOBHM.
Angel Witch, Mötorhead, Iron Maiden and Venom are some of the NWOBHM bands I enjoy the most.

No love for Judas Priest?

For me, I love Iron Maiden and Judas Priest equally. I think they're both counterparts to eachother in the genre Cool

I like a lot of nwobhm bands, debut from diamond head is fantastic, angel witch debut is overrated, saxon is a very good band, maiden for sure, tank and tygers.. are pretty good too, i really enjoy watchfinder general music, they are very underrated, holocaust is great, unique style, HOLYMAGICA Do You like them? raven, black axe and many more... but for heaven's sake motorhead is not nwobhm band, Lemmy says they play old good r'n'r , their music never sounded like nwobhm, we cant put them to any genre especially to nwobhm, do You ever heard a band that plays similar to them, they are not nwobhm band for sure

Holymagica what is the 5 percent You don't like?Smile, and what do You think about that all motorhead thing? now listening to jaguar- back street woman- amazing stuff there is one sad thing about this genre- lot of great bands never had a chance to record lp(only demos or ep) and 98 percent of the bands that represented that genre are totally forgotten

Check the reviews of the 2009 cd ''Sanctuary '' Praying Mantis

Classic Rock Magazine July 09
Though perceived as New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts, Praying Mantis pre-date the movement and always had more melodic leanings than their rivals. Plagued by bad luck, dodgy deals and shifting line-ups (Past vocalists include Bernie Shaw, Gary Barden, Tony O’Hora and Paul Di’Anno), Mantis fragmented in the mid 80’s before being lured back by the Japanese market. But core members Tino and Chris Troy have consistently delivered the goods. Recorded in Atlanta with FM, Romeo’s Daughter and Bruce Dickenson producer Andy Reilly, Sanctuary is big on hooks and drama, befitting a hugely underrated group of musicians. Though unable to match O’Hora’s sheer bluster and less expressive than Shaw, singer Mike Freeland registers a highly credible debut, excelling on the commercial hard rock of “In time” and “Tears in The rain”, also blending well with the Mantis sound during the big ballad “Lonely Way Home”. Sanctuary is a fine album that ticks many different boxes. 8/10
