Hello all,

My daughter is only 5 years old, but in her 5 years, she has only learned one singer's name, and that is DIO. When she was about three, she had seen my watch his video so much and was entertained by his Heaven and Hell section with the fire. She woudl mimic his "with you and you and you and all of you." I didn't let her figure out the "burn in hell" part, of course.

But, unlike the church that picketed his funeral, at her early age, she could tell the difference between the Dio we saw on stage, and the Ronnie that would be interviewed. She would say, "He's not really mean, he just acts mean for the songs." Some adults can't seperate the performer from the person. Too bad for them.

But I had to break the news to her about his passing. She tried to cheer me up, saying "There might be guitars in heaven, and if I listen really hard, we might be able to hear him singing still."

But lately DIO has been on my TV and Radio and computer, she is now having doubts that he is really gone. Doesn't seem gone from our house anyway.

Wanted to share our daughter's love for him. I am so proud when other parents ask her if she likes Hanna Montana or someone like that, she says, "No, but I do like Dio." Rarely do they know who he is, but we do." Proud papa.

Jeffrey

That's a lovely daughter you have! I teach guitar lessons and have several young children as students, and while their parents usually comment on the fact I have a photo of Ronnie James Dio in the studio, the kids have no clue who he is.

I would love to meet a 5 year old who has been taught so well!

I love what you said about it not feeling as though Ronnie is gone. My house is the same way. The music still plays, and with every playing minute of it come the thoughts of gratitude for the music and memories.

Well done, good sir! ^_^ That is an amazing story, and I hope to teach my young niece about Ronnie James Dio before long.

My 15 year old Daughter loves Dio and gets quite a kick by playing his stuff to her friends who are now getting into him as a result!

My 3 year old does the horns and always say "YOU ROCK!!" when she does it. She also head bangs whenever Dio is on the stereo!!
When she was born I got the Rock n Roll children baby vest from the Dio store. Its now in her keepsake box!

aw that's brilliant Smile

My two year old son loves " rainbow in the dark," and even tries to sing to it Very Happy today I was about to put a CD on and my little man runs up and says " rainbow in the dark mummy, " He loves to dance around to it. Last week he was running around saying " we rock," while trying to jump lol.
We have watched a lot of videos of Ronnie on the web and I believe my son, River, is really getting to know who Ronnie is.

We are teaching the kids well Very Happy

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, she knows how to do devil horns with her hand. ONe of her favorite songs is Rainbow in The Dark, she pretends to play the keyboard to it.

Proud daddy,

Jeffrey

You have nice daughter. My little brother (age 4) Came to me one day and he told me "Dorota, look at me" and she shown "devil horns". I was surprised.
Then I turned on Holy Diver cd,and he was jumping and dancing around the room. He often asks me to turn on some Dio's music Wink
