I can't really find the right words at this time of night but I know this Scottish poem that I want to dedicate to Ronnie James Dio.

Sorry to Part- Charles Spence (1779-1869)
It is the peaceful hour of rest,
When dreams on weary mortals fa';
Each thing is in its season bless'd,
And prudence bids us gang awa'.
"Good night" upon the table stands,
Come, fill it up at friendship's ca',
True friendship now no more demands;
"Good night, and joy be wi' you a'."
Taste we a joy without alloy,
'Tis when we from the crowd withdraw
Unseen to rove with one we love
By dusky glen or lonely shaw;
Or when we in the social ring
The nectar from the crystal draw
Till eerie tolling midnight bring
"Good night, an' joy be wi' ye a'."

Should fate my fondest wish deny,
I ne'er again shall see ye a';
But never shall the sacred tie
That binds these bosoms burst in twa.
True hearts are few, and seldom meet
On this revolving earthly ba';
I grieve the parting glass to greet,
"Good night, an' joy be wi' ye a'."

Rest in Peace Ronnie James Dio

Here is an American poem:

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I would have loved to have been there to see this final good bye but the Memorial Service was an excellent send-off.

SO, we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

It is still hard to believe he is gone. I think the hardest part I will have is not seeing Dio perform in concert. I will miss hearing him sing and giving so much of himself to his fans. All I can say there must be alot of good music on the other side so Ronnie has many good musicians over there. God bless you Ronnie!

RIP Ronnie.

Is that grave site public for visitors? I am just curious. I will come there some day to pay my respects if it is.

I still can't believe it.

It was today only that I learned that my beloved maestro – Ronnie James Dio – has died.

I was shocked.

I learned with delay too – I think it was the last January – that Ronnie got ill with cancer. I had a very dark premonition about him back then.

I cannot regret enough that I failed to say the final good-by to Ronnie while he was still alive. I will carry this regret to the last day of my life.

The reason for these failures of mine is that in the last six years I found another love that eclipsed my first love – the rock music.

Beloved, late maestro Ronnie James Dio: While battling tears at the moment, I am saying THANK YOU for having been a big part of my life; for having enriched it; for all the myriad, varied emotions that you bestowed upon me; for having satisfied my very deep needs; for having made me fulfilled, happy, excited and nostalgic.

Thank you again – the small GIANT – Ronnie James Dio.

Love for ever.

Flanker

Just over a month since RJD was laid to rest, the time it took place still brings wry smile to my face, someone has a wicked sense of humour... ...
