Ronnie was one of the few great powerful rock voices ever. I will miss seeing his shows, but never forget them. I met him once and he is like everyone else says a very nice, polite man. Very sorry, Wendy. GOD bless you and Ronnie _________________ Who cries for the children |

I would also like to say how much of a pleasure it would be to know and learn more about Ronnie.
Whether you have personal stories, anecdotes, personal photos, if you are comfortable sharing, I would love to hear/know more.
If you wrote a book, I'd certainly want to pick it up.
Just my brief two cents.
Thank you.
Peace be with you. |

Dear Wendy,
my deepest condolences for you.
It was shocking to receive the sad message almost a week ago. Words do not come easy, however I will try.
I wish you all the strength to cope with this loss and to continue life in a way Ronny would want you to.
The first time I saw Ronny on stage was at Monsters of Rock in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1984. Ever since then I liked his voice and music which will remain forever in our hearts and memories, just like Ronnie himself
Only the good die too young!
In deep sorrow,
Conny |

Wendy, I wrote this shortly after I learned of Ronnie's passing. You may use it any way that you wish. It is my gift to you and my tribute to Ronnie:
"For his music shall echo in the thunder of the storms, and his voice shall reverberate beyond the skies...evermore."
My most sincere condolences at this terribly difficult time. May you find some comfort in family, friends and Ronnie's spirit that now soars just beyond our perception. But he is still with us, in the fire dance of our hearts...an iridescent flame that can never be extinguished.

Words alone cannot explain what we must all be feeling right now.
Never in the history of rock has there ever or will there ever be a voice such as Ronnies.
In over 30 years of rock gigs, no-one has come close.
But even now, in his quietness, his power is there.
Bless you
Dave |

Dear Wendy
My first concert was in 1987 and it was for the Dream evil tour, I was 17 and the show was pure magic, it was like the twilight zone, during the show we were in a different world with legends and creatures. What I remember is the charisma of Ronnie, a lot of years have passed, and I saw other shows of Ronnie and it was the same feeling. In my short life I experienced it twice, with the Dalai Lama and Ronnie, when you can feel in the arena the power of kindness and love, of a man on the stage it must be a sign that he was sent on earth for a great purpose. He put seeds of love and respect in our hearts. Like I said in a previous post, behind a great man there is a great woman, and what you did and shared with Ronnie and with us the fans were so great, so let me thank you. I would like to thank Monique too, for being with us all the time, answering our emails, and making the Dio fan club the best, we feel together like a big family, and that’s why it hurts so much.
I love you and Ronnie so much, so I give you my love and condolences for you and the family and for the rest of the band.
JMB
(Un petit mot dans ma langue maternelle pour te remercier de toutes ces belles années, ta gentillesse et ton amour ont transformé le monde, Merci Ronnie)

Wendy,
Sending my condolences. Thank you for watching over him. I apologize for barking at you on blab. I was upset. I feel some peace knowing he went peacefully and is no longer suffering. I still believe he is still with us. Thank you for the Dio fund. I've also lost family and friends to cancer. None of us are immune. Stay strong. Peace....

I have only read kind words about Ronnie since his passing, but apparently there are some with an agenda who have used his death to spew their venom and Wendy has unfortunately read their self-degrading primordial propaganda.
I believe Ronnie was an anti-theist with the common sense to understand that theistic brainwashing has been the root of most of the world's evil throughout human history.
Wendy, please don't let the delusional rants of religiously retarded cretins upset you and instead find comfort in knowing Ronnie was loved by so many.

Dear Wendy,
So sad about Ronnie.
You are strong and Ronnie always had an angel by his side: You.
Thinking about you and how it must hurt inside. It hurts in my heart as well. Ronnie was the best singer and performer, but what I think and remember most, is that he was such a great and wonderful human being. Always kind, caring and good. He is deeply missed.
My deepest condolences to You, Wendy, and to everyone who knew and loved Ronald.
I wish I could come to the Memorial Ceremony, but I do not have the economy. But I will be there in my heart and thought.
You are strong and great, dear Wendy. If there is anything I can do if you need help with anything - I'm here.
Ronnie will forever live on in our hearts and through his music and words. And we will meet him again one day.
Warm hug to you, Wendy.
/Your friend Egon, Sweden

Hi Wendi -
I can't say I know exactly what you're going through, but I want you to know how much your husband meant to some of us. This is what I wrote the day I heard that he'd passed:
______________
Weeping in front of friends or co-workers is an uncomfortable experience. When you realize your eyes are filling with tears, you can walk outside and take a few breaths but it doesn't solve anything. Eventually, you have to face people with your swollen face and bloodshot eyes and the questions begin. They're not mean-spirited, intrusive questions, just born of concern. Still, you don't want to answer them - few would understand.
Such was the case today when I learned of Ronnie James Dio's death. I was surprised by how much his loss affected me.
For those of you who don't recognize the name, Dio was a heavy-metal icon - the lead singer of his self-titled band and a powerful voice in a tiny, but great man.
His music was reviled as evil by those who feared teen rebellion but was far from it. It was the voice of a father figure who taught self-reliance, empowerment and vision; at least that's what he said to me.
That voice helped me through some ugly times in my youth and guided me to a path of my own choosing - one for which I have no regrets, given my current place in life. I have been and always will be grateful to him.
Dio's wife posted the following on his website:
"Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."
- Wendy Dio
I saw a headline on a news website; by the time I reached Wendy Dio's message I was already crying.
I will miss him, greatly. It is a deep, profound loss for me.
So today I say thank you to Ronnie James Dio. Your contribution to me personally and to my life constitutes a debt I can never repay. You will live on in the life you helped me continue. Goodbye.
I'm crying again.
Between the velvet lies
There's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life's a never ending wheel
from Holy Diver, Ronnie James Dio.
_______________
Sincerely, Keith Burgin |
