Melanie,

What you wrote was so beautiful and so articulate on behalf of all of us who are mourning so deeply Ronnie's passing.

Something you wrote made me think... "my one little silly daydream was to meet him one day, to hold his hand briefly and to tell him how much I loved him..."

But how amazing that he did more than that for you... a rainbow stretching across the sky where you live, "A rainbow rising, look there on the horizon..."

Some people refer to such things as 'co-incidences'... but I prefer to call them 'Synchronicities'... these are that events that happen naturally and yet which leave a huge sense of resonance and meaning to us.

So do not dispair Melanie, forces far beyond our understanding will bring us peace, inspiration and LIFE. Ronnie was a master at conveying such concepts through his songs, and now he is truly living his lyrics for us.

Be strong and hold on.

Melanie,
'Synchronicities'.

I love that word as well, Coincidence is chance but Synchronicity is more like it's just what is, whats meant to be, things that we shouldn't even question. "Grass is green" "and "Rainbows appear for RJD disciples when needed" just the way things are supposed to be Smile

Funny thing, when I was about 7 our neighbors moved away leaving behind their beautiful Persian cat 'fluffy' and her kitten. We found a home for the kitten but no one seemed to want the mom cat. She took to me and me to her and when people who might want her came to see her she would look at them evilly and sometimes hiss. My mom then finally says "No one is going to take her and I know you want to keep her so ok, but we are not keeping a cat with a dumb name like fluffy! Give her a new name" I immediately said what i'd secretly been calling her already - "Her names Rainbow!"

Why did that 7 year old me name a gray Persian cat 'Rainbow'??? She had a couple mottled brown spots mixed in but a rainbow she was not! I hadn't even heard of DIO then, wasn't even into music really. So why 'Rainbow'? I'll tell you why - Synchronicity! It was just meant to be. I remember thinking after I discovered DIO how funny/cool that was.

Ronnie has left us so much, including the rainbows. Melanie, you put it so well, I felt like I was there seeing that rainbow with you! I wonder if any of us will ever see one and not think of him?

I don't believe in afterlife either, but I also don't believe we just end. I'm not big on science either but it is a law of physics that energy can't be destroyed, only changed. To me, what the christians call a soul, the thing that makes you, you, that's an energy, it can't be destroyed, only changed. And Ronnie had energy!! We all know that! Not just the physical kind but emotional & mental as well, he was so tuned to other people and situations. No way that energy could just end!

There's a line in Kings Dark Tower that says "Go then, there are other worlds then these" That's more my thought, who knows whats next, hell we don't know what tomorrows going to bring how could we possible expect to know what the next level after this life will bring! Silly humans have to try and explain it and rationalize it,

All week DIO songs have been in my head, but today it was just one verse from one song, over and over. I'd find myself singing it while doing chores and stuff. It was this one:

I've heard about a rainbow
I've heard it makes you crazy
I think I'm goin' crazy
Crazy 'cause I see

Maybe I was there seeing it with you Melanie Smile
