You knew him best... it was hard enough for me to simply type a goodbye message for him. How do I say the right words for you. This lifetime was better than any other I could've ever imagined living in. I came to know Ronnie way back when I was just a little kid. You had the joy of being with him, right up until the last moments of his life. Everything you two shared together, the ups and downs and everything in between...

I don't know for myself, where life takes me now?

But you are always in my prayers, best wishes and nothing but the best for you and the rest of the family. If you ever need anything, all you have to do is ask and the fans of Ronnie will be there for you. I hope somehow, you stay strong and make it through this.

Much love for you Wendy, hopeful thinking and prayer from me.

Dearest Wendy,
I have no words at this time to express my feelings. I can't even imagine the heartache and sense of loss you must be feeling.
I cannot speak for everyone, But I believe I speak for most fans like myself.
You have an extended "Dio" family that is hundreds of thousands strong, and we are here for you.
I have been at a total loss since Sunday. Ronnie has been a vital part of my life for 25 years, And through him, so have you.
My wife, You, Ronnie, and this forum helped me cope with the death of my daughter....and I can never repay that. I can though...offer my thoughts, my prayers, and my strength to you. You are loved and cherished by many that you don't even know, and I am one of those.........
In Mourning,
Robert Nagel.

So sorry Wendy. I can't emagine your pain at this time. The mixed emotions and emptyness. I almost passed out when I heard the news. I first felt angry like I had been cheated then sad as it started to sink in and now I know Ronnie would wan't us to rejoice
in the great life he shared with us all.

His life was truely a gift to us. Even though I am just a fan I have always felt a connection to him as if I knew him all my life. It's just the way he reached out to ppl you knew he really loved ppl.

Thanks so much for keeping this forum open for us to share with you and each other and please know he did what he loved right to the end. You can see the joy of life in his face in any photo of him.

All the best

The only thing I can say is the time is a healer but also lots of cuddles from folks around you helps as well.
With my much respect and love, I send a prayer to give you strength and that your God heals your broken heart.

I only know one thing; Ronnie had all the character and mental toughness that was necessary in his final battle. It was his nature to handle life's battles. This important element was there.

Dear Wendy,
my deepest condolences!

We all suffer a big loss, but none of us so much as you.
Ronnie gave us all so much with his music like love and hope. He always had a smile on his face.

I'd be very happy, if we, his fans, could give him at least a little back during the last hard months with sending our well wishes and showing our strong love.
Yesterday we came together in a small club here in Frankfurt, listening to Ronnie's music the whole evening... it was our personal good bye to our hero. But we also know, every time we listen to his music and meet other fans, he lives on in our hearts and he will never be forgotten!

Thank you so very much, that you never stopped to tell us about his health situation!

Dearest Wendy

Thank you for everything you have done for Ronnie and for us by keeping us updated on progress and the final sad news.

I am deep in mourning and I cannot imagine the pain and sadness you and your family must be experiencing. For that I offer you my deepest sympathy.

When my Dad passed away I was given a small verse which I would like to share with you, as I found it a great comfort. It said:

"the dark sadness of death gives way to the bright promise of immortality"

God bless you Wendy, you have the support of all of us.

Oli

My condolences and deepest sympathy are with you.

Your strength and courage during Ronnie's illness were matched only by his own. He was a hero during this fight as were you. During your own time of fear and pain, you still found the time and the compassion to post updates on Ronnie's condition for those of us who may not have known him but loved him for the many blessings he shared with all of us. Not many people would think of others the way you and Ronnie did when you were going through such tremendous personal trials.

So much love and magic and light went out of this world when Ronnie left. I'd never met him but he inspired me and I was touched by his words and his music and his humanity. In all his lovely poetic lyrics I found one underlying truth that Ronnie projected to us all and that was that life was short, to be good to one other. Life was far too short for Ronnie and that is a tragedy for all of us. I cannot even imagine how great a loss this is for you. My heart goes out to you.

I've seen many taped interviews that Ronnie did over the years and one thing always stood out. When he mentioned your name, which was frequently, there was no mistaking the respect and the love that was in his voice. That always touched me deeply and made me smile.

The music Ronnie wrote was nothing short of brilliant. But it was the wisdom and his keen observation that made me a fan. I've often joked about him being the reincarnation of John Keats. They both were blessed with remarkable perception and a brave heart. Re-reading "Adonais" (Shelley's elegy to Keats), it seems as if it could have been written about Ronnie James Dio:

"He is made one with Nature: there is heard
His voice in all her music, from the moan
Of thunder, to the song of night's sweet bird;
He is a presence to be felt and known
In darkness and in light, from herb and stone,
Spreading itself where'er that Power may move
Which has withdrawn his being to its own;
Which wields the world with never-wearied love,
Sustains it from beneath, and kindles it above.

I'll think of Ronnie whenever I see a rainbow or a thunderstorm.

You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Ronnie will live on in my heart and I will think of him every day. When my granddaughter is old enough, I will introduce her to his music. I can think of no better gift to give her.

Bless you, Wendy. Be strong.

Dear Wendy,

I can't even imagine what a difficult time you must be going through right now. For me to be even typing something like this seems almost surreal, for I am still in shock about the news of Ronnie's passing. It feels like I have lost a big part of my life. I feel terrible for have never seen Ronnie perform live. It's something I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. So to those who have seen him live, met the man, even if it was just for a short moment, you should feel honored to have done so...

Almost 7 years ago, Ronnie's music literally changed my life. When I was a struggling, young teen looking for some sort of direction in life. I was 13 years old, and I had bought the "Stand Up & Shout: Dio Anthology". Two discs, that spanned from Ronnie's career in Elf, all the way to the musical powerhouse that was Dio. I was completely blown away by Ronnie's vocals and lyrics, as well as the perfectly executed musicianship of other fellow band mates. This was my gateway to not just all things Dio, but to everything heavy metal as well. It was Ronnie, and his music that formed me into the person that I am today. I cannot thank Ronnie enough for that.

The road ahead looks tough for some, me and other fans included. But it's incomparable to how it must be for you, Wendy, and all the rest of Ronnie's family and close friends. I wish you all the best, and I will do my part to keep you all in good spirits. I will miss hearing Ronnie's voice, his words of wisdom and intellect, and his well known good-mannered personality. I will do my part and continue to listen to his music, watch his videos, and praise him for being such a great human being. Ronnie deserves all the respect and praise he gets.

Thank you for your time Wendy, and I wish you, and the rest of Ronnie's family, and friends all the best. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

God Speed Ronnie. You are never forgotten.

Forever a fan,
- Nick Parker \m/

Dear Wendy,
I love and respect you as though you were my own family, despite the fact we have never met. I have the greatest respect and admiration for our beloved Ronnie, and I doubt I will ever hold anyone else in higher regard.

Words are little consolation, but please know that I pray for you constantly. We will all miss Ronnie, but none of us so much as will you. Take comfort in the faith that Ronnie is in the greatest care, and he will never be too far from you. This life is really but an instant, and though the grief is immense, so too must be the joy that Ronnie has been lifted from this imperfect world. His storm has ended, and now he will rest peacefully in the Rainbow!

My heart will be with you always, for what it's worth. Thank you for having stood so gracefully beside our dear Ronnie; for all the love and support you have given him. His fans are your fans, too. We shall keep you in our thoughts and prayers, and for those who believe, we will wait in faith for the day when suffering, sorrow, and grief are forever ended.

Sincerest condolences,
Lauren Koetting

The strife is o'er, the battle done; now is the Victor's triumph won; O let the song of praise be sung: Alleluia!

Wendy , I cant say how much i feel for you at this sad time. Ronnie to me was more than a singer. He was an inspiration and throughout my life in good times and bad times he was one of the few consistant things in my life. I have had the pleasure of meeting you and ronnie on numouous occasions and you both have treat me with great respect and friendlness. I can recall the last time i spoke to ronnie. It was in oslo in 2008 on my birthday. The last thing ronnie said to me before he left was Remember ian your not as fan your a friend. I know the next few days will be a blur and i wish i could get over for the public memorial but its not possible. the memorial will be 3 years to the day of the last concert i went to and on my birthday. I will take time out to pay my respects. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Ian[/b]

Wendy,

I hope you know that right now you are surrounded by love. Draw your strength from that.

We all know Ronnie will live on through the wonderful music he left us.

He also lives on in your laughter, your tears, the light in your eyes, and the love you have for him still. Hopefully very soon, memories of him will again bring you joy!

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and holding you in my heart.

With much love,
Sarah

To Wendy,

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences for your loss and hope the knowledge that such a great man who inspired so many can somehow bring you confort in this difficult time. I would like you to know that I am one of those that was truly inspired by Ronnie over 30 years ago. After going to see him perform on the Heaven and Hell tour in 1980 I was so impressed that I bought my first guitar. While I have allways secretly wished I could sing like him, I just don't have the voice, but of course no one does.

He has allways been my favorite singer and I had dreamed all these years of someday meeting him, but alas it was never meant to be. Instead I got to know him though his music, listening to every word, every inflection all the while practicing to get better hoping that someday I might be good enough to be on a stage like him and though the ups and downs of life the craft somehow kept me going.

Even when things looked impossible I still had the music, I still had my guitar, I still had my Dio and so I still had a chance and no matter what no one could ever take away the music. It still plays loud as ever in my mind, in my heart, and in my very soul.

"I can hear it screaming in my mind,
Long Live Rock and Roll"

Oh and by the way...it is said that behind every great man is a great woman and as Ronnie's producer you helped to bring his music to us and I would like to take this oppertunity to just say thanks for all your hard work and dedication to all of us loyal fans.

"I'll give you a star
So you know just where you are
Someday, Some way you'll feel the things I say
Dream for a while of the things that make you smile
Don't you know, Don't you know
Oh you know, That I'm your wishing well
Your wishing well...I wish you well"
