I'm a fan! I started a group a while back but it's pretty tiny...anyway, almost everything on my Facebook page is related to DIO...people think I have a problem.
...not that I care what they think, of course

On a serious note about this........whilst I support any channel which gets the DIO name out there (I am a member of the Official Facebook page, Fiddlequeens US Fans, Dio Myspace to name a few) this is supposed to be the official site of DIO and WE need to make it the best place for Dio information.
However we need to know that this site will get first dibs on info, news etc so that it becomes the first place to come - I dont know how to make that happen but its the only way this site is going to stay alive.

Hey, Oli, I agree with you on keeping this site as first priority. I always make it a point to check in everyday. I share the news updates on my Facebook page for Dio fans, but I also made a point to encourage everyone who joined that group to also join and participate in this forum, and I always cite this website as the source for all my updates.
To me, this site is the top authority on everything DIO; in fact, I never bother to check any other websites for Dio news. I'm sure that goes for most of the others who are active in the forum.
Obviously it's a wonderful thing to use other popular Internet venues to promote the DIO name, and this new page is great because it's official...but we also need to promote this site and this forum as the official band page. I don't know how to make it happen, but we should at least do our part to cite this website as the main page for all DIO-related news.

I agree on that, but from what I'm seeing everything is being networked together with all the same info from different sources.
But have no fear NiJi management will not let this place go into the ground.

NiJi management give us the forum but its not them that makes this a good or bad place.
Its the members that make this place bloody amazing from every corner of the world.Synchronized networks is a great idea but it takes up a lot of time to get it right.
This is not a social networking site and never will be.
This place creates social bonds just from discussions.
Yes there is anonymity but that is not a problem, I think it gives the member even more freedom to say what they want and becoz of the way our rules are, there should be no liabilities,social network sites leave yourself open to lawsuits and even being fired from your job.
I know that in the UK there is great concern about users giving out too much personal information and the threat of sexual predators.Then there is the data that is being collected by these sites, invasion of privacy and the data protection act protects me in this country but it does not protect me on these sites.

It seems to me that all the infornation is channeled like one.

I agree all information about Ronnie James Dio should be with the official RJD web site then Facebook. I personally love the RJD official web site better than Facebook. Just my opinion.
