What is the best concert/show you have been too.....aside from RJD (Rainbow, Sabbath, Dio)

Mine was a tough choice out of MANY concerts I've been to over the years....

I narrowed it down to 2 choices for me....

Slayer/Testament 1990.....for the thrash side of my metal tastes, this was the ultimate show. Testament opened with an intense "punch in the gut" set, no talking, no breaks between songs, just VERY intense and straight forward....

Then just as I was recovering from that.....Slayer took the stage and everything became a blurr LOL. my body felt this show for a week after, including the ringing in my ears \m/

My other top choice has alot of sentiment to it, as well as being a great show.....

Page/Plant (1998)

I was 9 years old when John Bonham (rip) passed away, so seeing Zeppelin was a dream that could never come true for me. This was the tour after the Unledded (no quarter) tour....so there was no orchestra, just the 4 of them onstage. They cranked almost 3 hours of Zeppelin greats, and they sounded amazing. The arena was a complete sellout, and there were 18,000 fans singing along to every classic they played that night. The highlight of the night for me was an astounding performance of Since I've been loving you, it actualy gave me goosebumps!

Queen with Freddie will always be a great gig for me.
Not sure about others but Iron Maiden's
''World Piece Tour'' was a huge favourite!

WOW, those had to be great!

I never got to see Queen with Freddie, and I've seen Maiden 4 times, but missed out on any of the tours before Somewhere in Time....

I've seen so many bands, and was bloody well drunk at most of them. In 1996 I got the chance to see Grand Funk Railroad with the original members, and was not only sober, but completely blown away. They just dont make bans like that anymore.

I can relate to that....

I went to see The Moody.Blues with a family friend, since I went with him I was completely sober (rare at that time in my life) and was completely blown away by the show they put on, it was amazing.

For me, it was the Headbanger's Ball tour, in 1989.

It was Anthrax, Exodus and Helloween.

And then, we have Clash of the Titans in 1991, with: Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.

And, in more recent times, 2010 - last Friday! - with Primal Fear and Havok.

1. Manowar - Magic Circle Festifal 2008 - they played the first 6 albums live on two nights...
2. Manowar Ohio (Cleveland and Cinncinati) 1997 - one hell of an experience to see them play a small club....
3. All the other 85 Manowarshows I have seen

Hell yes....saw those same 3 bands tour together back in 1990...December 15th, to be exact....Testament were just killer, Megadeth were tighter than a gnat's ass, and Judas Priest were excellence personified....a truly and wonderfully BRUTAL evening of metal magnificence!

To throw in a totally curved ball and stay away from rock/metal shows.............but one of the best shows I have ever seen was Prince Diamonds and Pearls at Wembley Arena - I've seen him many times and his control of an audience is quite simply incredible....also the man can play a damn mean rock guitar.

The show was fantastic for many reasons but mainly because once the show had ended and only a hard core 50 or so fans sat around chatting did something special happen. All the doors around the arena were slammed shut and Prince came back on stage and played to us 50 fans for another 45mins - it turned into a real party.

To get back to rock Donington Monsters of Rock 1988 was VERY special, GnR when they were a good band, Helloween, Megadeath, David Lee Roth, Kiss and Maiden - my ears hurt for a week after that show!

I saw Anthrax, Exodus, and Celtic Frost in 88 two days after my 18th birthday. The floor of the club collapsed from all the stage diving!
