I haven't been here for a while... but yesterday I logged on and... TAH-DAAAHHH: Electra and the Magica follow ups popped up. This is really great! Can't wait!
What do you think this Electra thing is going to be like? Something a la We Rock / One More For The Road high intensity killer, or rather something resembling his mid tempo rockers (let's say... Challis).
To me: fast stuff is what I keep praying for, but... let's be honest: we will take whatever Dio pulls off, whether fast or plodding...
PS: This guy really loves his fans if he's into producing two studio albums next year, being on tour with H&H and probably putting rough draft for another H&H studio album... (2012?????). Only three letters: W - O - W! |

| wow, how did I do a double post?! You could be right about the cynical thing H.M but, I don't see it all happening. It would be interest though. Maybe if the other project were exhausted then it might take place but, promoters keep dangling other carrots in front of them that are tried and tested. RJD and others would have to begin to turn away from these Sabbath type promotions to make the ELF thing happen. |

You are right, buddy.
I've got the Evil or Divine CD/DVD sooo... I hope Electra will be released as a single. Of course I would buy it in that form as a hardcore fan, but the box set is too much.
The single could include a few live tracks recorded by the Dio band in the last years... just to make it more eh... fun and "ownable"( sorry for my english) |

I am refusing to listen to it!! Been advised that my Tournado box set has been shipped and I am going to wait for that to arrive and enjoy the song in my own time and place.........

Wow!Thank you for posting !!
I don't buy the Box Set because I can't watch these DVDs with Japanese player.
But I really wanted to hear "Electra".
This is great. And it is not like any other Ronnie's songs.
It will be included in Magica II, but recording members are different from Magica.(Doug joined this time. And Rudy this time, not Jimmy which is important I think, because Jimmy was always a key to make songs. And Scott joined this time to add more thick sounds)
So Electra is not like Magica.
It's quite new to me.
Creating many songs for many years will make difficult for composers to creat a brand new songs.
I think it's really great.
I want to hear the continuous story of Magica.
I hope that Craig and Ronnie will make it

The song is all over youtube by now...
It's an alright song, could be catchier at times, but it sounds like typical 00's Dio, slow and crunchy. |

That would be my only critisism. The song sounds Great, but I really love the faster stuff from the 80s/early 90s ( Stand Up and Shout, We Rock, Wild One...). I guess thats why I like Killing the Dragon so much, because it was more like those early albums.

I've opened my box set.....stolen some time away from the family and listened to Electra.......I LOVE IT!!!!!! Now I will admit that on first listen I wasnt that taken by it but by the third play at some volume I was really into it.
It is a true slow paced Dio track.........very much in the Magica style which is kind of how I listened it. Like Alitivity I love the faster paced Dio stuff but this new song is great. Recorded really well and I am glad I waited for my box set to arrive before listening to it as only my home stereo really does music justice.
Its truly great to hear a new tune by Ronnie and the boys.....hopefully we will get to hear it live in due course.
What do the rest of you think of it?
