| nice to see this split in half; and given that this is the DIO site, it says a lot about the respect Dio fans have for Coverdale, in particular for the fantastic way he sings Mistreated. |
Here here....but
For me its not just the vocals of David Coverdale on this track that I like its also the guitar playing of Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden as well of course I judging this on the track from ''Live In The Heart Of The City''
Sorry to say there is no clip of Bernie Marsden playing in the song but this Micky Moody and Mel Galley [RIP] live at Castle Donnington in 1983.
Another great version of the song.
Mel is bloody amazing on this song

Yes he does....but the only reason he is not in the poll is most of us have recordings of DC and DIO singing the song...thats all nothing against Glenn Hughes |

HM, I was lucky enough to have been there in'83 and I used to have a video of 'Snakes performance. The camera work wasn't brilliant.
As for Mel's playing, while I always thought he was very "rigid" in his stage presence, his guitar work was exemplary.

I've heard a bootleg of GH singing "Mistreated", and whilst I'm a huge fan of Glenn's music, this is one song he should leave to his old sparring partner, David Coverdale.

David Coverdale wrote the lyrics for "Mistreated" and his voice suits this song better than anyone elses. RJD's voice is one of the best in rock, but some songs are best sung by those who penned them. _________________ Sick of all of this
