Benedictum would be escellent - especially as they could (and do) cover the sabbath tracks!
That would be a fine support for Dio........I shall now sit quietly with my fingers firmly crossed! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

black spiders to support dio according to the classic rock website.
i saw them support somebody in london afew months ago and they were a decent live band, pretty heavy. singer was a bit underwhelmed by the crowd's reaction, hope he'll be better pleased with a dio crowd!.
only a warm up to the main event but could have been a lot worse. |

Support Band isnt quite what I was hoping for but hey I am not going to the shows for them!! They strike me as unoffensive and a significant improvement on Viking Skull on the MOTM tour and definitely better than Lamb of God on the last H&H tour!!
I would have liked to have seen Benedictum or Tim Owens personally but hey I am getting to see Dio.......thats all that matters!!
Roll on November....thats what I say!! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

LOL! What annoys me about 'new' bands is how they come up with these tags to try and sell themselves......Black Spiders claim to be a cross between AC/DC and Black Sabbath and I cannot hear that in any of the tracks I have heard of theirs.........why do that!?
As for Viking Skull......they held my attention for about 30 seconds before the bar beckoned!! So Black Spiders wont have much to live up to!! but it does lead me to a question for another thread.......... _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

I remember some people at the H&H Glasgow show were wearing ear plugs during the support act performances. Is this a good idea for this tour? My hearing was thoroughly buggered after Lamb of God, and it meant I was getting less of Dio's vocals. _________________

its all personal choice....but if you want to I'd recommend hearos - they simply cut down the volume but dont mess the frequency up so you still get the full sound of the band but at reduced volume. They are only about £7 or so - I wear then when playing with my band. _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

Black Spiders seem okay, but I'm not sure how much interest they'll get. I was quite hoping for an old NWOBHM band; we got Girlschool in 2008, why not Praying Mantis or someone like that.
Black Spiders shouldn't be too out of place though, it could have been an odder pairing (like H&H and Lamb of God). _________________ Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio |

I too would have loved Benedictum to support. A real shame they aren't, but they are working on new material..... _________________ Uncreation
