|
|
I was going to London and Birmingham to see DIO in last November. And Ronnie said that they were going to do many songs from Rainbow and show itself was to be a kind of DIO best hit live.
So I was so excited about what songs they were to play last year.
And I have forgotten all about this because of the shock after that.
Today my bandmate said that he wants to know the setlist of the tour.
Of course setlist has must have been settled.
I also want to know it.
Electra was going to be played.
Does anyone of DIO member reveal the setlist ?
I really like to know. _________________ ☆Tell me lies as long as it's not about love☆ |

Hey Non - hope youre doing ok.
I have often wondered what the set would have been like, especially as Ronnie was saying there would be no Sabbath material included. That would mean have meant more space for Dio and Rainbow tracks....so it would be interesting to know what the boys were jamming around. _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

Oh, we have thought in the same way.
Yes, I really want to know what the setlist was without Sabbath songs.
By the way, I joined the tribute event for Ronnie yesterday in tokyo yesterday. I joined as a staff and also a player as DIO tribute band.
2 Rainbow bands, Sabbath band, DIO band. 4 bands in total.
It was so emotional event and everybody really loves Ronnie.
BUT !!!
That was like a Rainbow festival, not Ronnie's event.
There're many Rainbow fans here in Japan and so many tribute bands of Rainbow. So most of the people loves Ritchie and Cozy and Ronnie. They love Ronnie in Rainbow. They love to listen to Rainbow. And Rainbow songs are more gorgeous and large-scale in fact.
But as for me, Ronnie is all round player and I know he loves metal so much. It is true that Ronnie loves Rainbow and pay so much attention and gratitude to Rainbow. But he is DIO.
I strongly feel that metal music is not accepted enough here.
And many people don't have any interest in Ronnie after Rainbow.
After the bands' performance, there was a session.
The song was Long Live Rock'n Roll instead of Stars.0
That's good. I love Rainbow myself.
But I felt so sad.
Ronnie was in Rainbow only for 4 or 5 years.
DIO and Sabbath.....tons of imoprtance to me.
What about the other countries ? _________________ ☆Tell me lies as long as it's not about love☆ |

Hi Everyone
Rudy has stated the following to Joe over at the Black Sabbath site:
"And since we were 2 days away from leaving for the UK we had been rehearsing our set list which included Lady of the Lake, Sixteenth Century Greensleeves and a full version of Catch the Rainbow.
Thanks,
Rudy"
It would have been incredible to hear those songs........... _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

Yes,
Those are classics that I have not heard live in a long time. Am I correct in reading that Dio and the band were practicing 16th Century Greensleeves and Catch the Rainbow to play in the Dio lineup? And he got sick before getting to perform them in concert? I am late getting to this topic, so forgive me for not being up to speed on the information.

Damn! What a wonderful song lists. I definitely wanted to hear those songs as I didn't see Rainbow stage.
I can hardly express what I feel now because I was going to UK at that time to see DIO.
I have wondered which Rainbow songs they were going to play.
So thanks for posting Rudy and Olivious. _________________ ☆Tell me lies as long as it's not about love☆ |
