This may be hard, but I thought it would be cool if we each picked our overall fav Dio album in the poll, and then listed our fav albums in order from Holy Diver to Master of the Moon.
1. Sacred Heart
2. Dream Evil
3. Magica
4. Holy Diver
5. The Last in Line
6. Lock Up The Wolves
7. Strange Highways
8. Master of the Moon
9. Killing the Dragon
10. Angry Machines
As you can tell from my list I am not too fond of Dio post-Dream Evil, with the exception of Magica. _________________ "And we'll find the Sacred Heart... somewhere bleeding in the night" |

I commend you for being able to put up with Angry Machines 2nd most! Personally, I can barely stand to listen to it. I just now put it on, and midway through hunter of the heart I got bored and put on Lock Up The Wolves--and immediately I was satisfied
I love each Dio album sooooo much, but there is so much lacking on Angry Machines, in my opinion. I don't feel much flare from Tracy G, he plays too grungy I think. Strange highways is an exception though, that album is underrated in the highest sense. _________________ "And we'll find the Sacred Heart... somewhere bleeding in the night" |

We're a ship without a storm
The cold without the warm
Light inside the darkness that it needs, yeah
We're a laugh without a tear
The hope without the fear
We are coming - hooooooooooome

I wont list the albums in order of preference as to be honest they change with my mood and what is going on in my life at any given time but Sacred Heart was the first rock concert I ever attended and as such that album will always hold a very special place for me.........and lets be honest has anyone seen a better live show than that?????? Whatever happened to Claude Schnell.....I wish there were more live shows from scared heart available with his solo......he seriously rocked!!!! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

All hail the poll king!........
To tell the truth, I kinda skipped the 90s rock scene. So if Angry Machines sounds "grungy"... I dont know.
My first listen was in 2003 or so. I ...understand.... the bad reviews that the album recieved, production could of been a hell of alot better.
But I love Ronnies willingness to experiment. I usually skip Big Sister and sometimes Black. But, I think the rest of the CD rocks. The subject matter really jumps out at me, I guess I understand "The Message" Ronnie was trying to convey with the album. |

I completely agree with you on that, as far as lyrics are concerned, Angry machines was exceptional. Ronnie conveys such strong messages on every album, it blows me away. _________________ "And we'll find the Sacred Heart... somewhere bleeding in the night" |
