Bonnet may have done only 1 album but Joe Lynn Turner does not even come close to anything like ''Eyes of the World''
The greatest Rainbow song ever after the Dio era of course! Wink

Gotta agree with you on this, "Eyes Of The World" is an absolute stormer!!!!

Vocalist wise?? Gotta be RJD with Bonnet second.

Cool

The Sentinel Smile
Have you got the cd 'Line Up'
Graham Bonnet - lead vocals
Micky Moody - lead guitar, acoustic guitar
Francis Rossi - rhythm guitar
Cozy Powell - drums, percussion
Gary Twigg - bass guitar
Jon Lord - keyboards, synthesizer

Should have been a pure classic but its only okay Confused
To use the likes of Powell,Lord,Rossi and Moody as just session players was a huge mistake.

One word, HM: "OUCH!!!!"

"The Maestro" and the late, great Cozy Powell as session players?? Jeez..................... Probably a shock to Rossi and MM's systems as well!!

As you said, these 4 huge rock names should've ensured an absolute treat. Sadly, or otherwise, I've not got this. Might try to find it purely as a curio.

Shop around I got it for under a fiver.
Its worth having just for the song Night Games.
Micky Moody was up for it...writing a 3 songs I think.
But the rest of the songs just covers Rolling Eyes .

Going back to Eyes of the World...I always thought Bonnet had written the song with Blackmore but it was Roger Glover.
I think the best credits Bonnet got as a writer must have been on Assault Attack not sure about Bonnet's work with Alcatrazz.
I have to say that, I think Bonnet has underachived.

He's kicking a@# on my project. He actually hit a high Eb over C on one of my compositions. The man has lost nothing over time.

There's no doubting the strength of Bonnet's voice, it was just his dress sense that let him down. Walking on stage at the inaugural Monsters Of Rock wearing an Hawaiian shirt??? Oh, per-leeeeeeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HM, Bonnet released Night Games as a single after leaving Rainbow. It's a bloody good song, and still in my collection, and if my aging memory serves, the "B" side weren't half bad either!! It was on the jukebox in the pub we used to use when I was at Broadwater College way, way back.

£1:99 plus p&p

Not sure about buying from eBay, even using PayPal. Had my debit card hacked from somewhere and flights to Canada and car hire in Spain bought using it.

Cool I would have no issues with Mr. Turner fronting a reformed RAINBOW. 2 of my fav Rainbow records are "Difficult to Cure" and "Straight between the Eyes". Hearing them do "No Release" and "Freedom Fighter" as well as "Eyes of Fire," "Miss Mistreated," and "Death Alley Driver" would be WAY COOL.
