I've posted here before that I was very disappointed with the sound of Dehumanizer. There were very many good tracks but I just couldn't get over the paper-thin, transister radio sound of the CD - I honestly think something went very wrong with the mix and/or master of that record, which probably sounded amazing as they were recording it.
And the production on their other albums was unusually good - I just can't reconcile them against each other or imagine how it ended up that way. Somebody with too much hearing loss - or some engineer stuck on "flat" EQ, which sounds terrible!
Now that the new CD is coming out on Rhino, couldn't they pay for a remix-remaster of Dehumanizer, and also release it on Rhino - then this album could finally rightfully take the place it deserves.
And I think that was the reason why the album didn't do anything - the previous two albums had been enormous hits!

There were also a coule of other factors that made the album less than it should have been.
1) the move to Grunge by the radio at that same time didnt help the old Metal bands win any new fans
2) The choice by Sabbath to do the Anniversary concert with Ozzy. If you remember, Ronnie would not perform and Rob Halford took his place for the night, however it gave Ozzy a chance to make amends with the guys, and the second incarnation of the Dio years was cut short and overshadowed by the original line up reuniting _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

I think someone should recommend this to the H & H dudes, to see their reaction. I think that this is a great time for a remaster now that their together on fire _________________ Video games are bad for you? That what they said about Rock 'n' Roll... |

I read that over at the Black Sabbath forum, the Dehumanizer CD will be rereleased in Feb on vinyl. NOt sure if it is remixed or just reissue on Vinyl. I think they are releasing another Sabbath on Vinyl, LIve Evil or MOb Rules at the end of January.
Don't have a link at the time, but it was on the Black Sabbath forum website I read about the Dio Era Sabbath releases coming on Vinyl in January and February.
Would be strange for me to hear Dehumanizer on Vinyl, since it only came out on CD. The rest of SAbbath I already have on Vinyl from the 1980s.
