This is a strange subject isn't it... we have all come to love the musik and magick that is known to us all as Ronnie James Dio right...

but how many of us, being we're not exactly in 7th grade anymore and well.... yeah most of us are a wee bit older now, lol.

non the less, how many of us would turn the volume down a little bit and grab one of our favorite drinks and find that spot we like so well to just have a good time reading some things Ronnie has jotted down for us to share in... would you rush out to buy a copy of Ronnie's book?

I know many would love to see maybe perhaps a daily sitcom like Ozzy making a fool of himself or something similar to Gene, which i actually thought Gene Simmons show was done tastefully. but I dont think as a fan or outsider it would be seen the same way as a friend sitting next to Ronnie would see it all. i'd however think that as a fan, YOU would love to just pick up a copy of the book next time your out to say maybe grab a new copy of the lastest tunes from the Dio dudes?

Magick

Great subject there! Smile
I was actually thinking about this a while ago, and to me a book written by/about Ronnie Dio would be the most interesting thing to spend my money on!
I don`t think there is one out there yet!?

What a great idea! He must have thousands of interesting
stories and music tour descriptions to fill ten books. But
maybe he is a private type and that is cool. We should
call Ronnie the "Mystery Man". Wink

I agree I would love to read a book about the( Man on the Silver Mountain) Ronnie James Dio with the golden voice. I am sure he must have plenty of adventures while on tour to tell us.

Indeed a great idea. I think we can find out thousands titles for the book.

I strongly agree with you HM that Ronnie should write the book and not a ghost writer

A book by Ronnie would definitely go on top of one of my "to read" piles!

I feel uneasy if there aren't enough unread books around...

only if released with new music... I love Dio's lyrics, but speaking generally, each artist is good at one thing and one thing only, like a top basketball player normally can't reach top status in soccer or baseball and vice-versa. I know of no, or vey little, book writers who are good singers, or good painters, or etc. Take dylan, superb lyricist, but what fantastic books did he write?

Take the Magica Story. It is dramatic and adds value to the music, but it is not great literature. So why should the best singer and the best voice in the world do something that would be less than best in the world?

Apparently he's been working on an autobiography for more than a decade, here's an article about it from 1997

Sooooo, hopefully someday it'll get finished Razz

That's an understatement. It does help bring the songs together and give them more meaning, but it was terribly written. Can anyone confirm if Ronnie actually penned it? I don't have all my CD booklets with me, or else I'd just do it.

If Ronnie were to write an autobiography, I would pick it up the day it came out. I would need a ton of convincing if the book was fiction.

...Hell Yeah!!!...especially if it was about the one of the longest running careers in Rock & Roll...just imagine all of the storie's Ronnie must have to tell about his travels around the world...other musicians & all of the debauchery that comes with!!!...Now that would be a book!!!... Very Happy

I'd love to read a book by Ronnie himself! Only an autobiography would be suffice though, anything less then there isalways something missing.
