I have to say this place is REALLY slow now--I know I have been gone a long time but...hell.
Where is everyone?
Only a handfull of posts a day.

Please this is never my show...my show is in my signature.
My role is always to be a active Forum Admin,notice my badge does not say Admin but Forum Admin which means to me showing involvement with the members in here.The key word is active.
I also make sure that good topics get replies and I will start new topics just to generate discussion for the members, I don't always get it right and some topics work and some don't but I never give up finding that perfect topic for the members.
I only do about 4.15 posts per day in here but thats the thing...I am here everyday and with good Mods and the The Cap'n here as well...we have this place covered 24 hours a day.
The forum has changed I agree but only becoz the members in here wanted it to evolve this way.I would love to have the same sort of tools as ZeusJupiter has in his forum but I can't and I have to work with what is here and in my opinion this forum and his forum are the 2 best around when it comes to DIO.
And what makes them good is not what he does or I do...its the contributions from the fans and the time they give that matter the most. |

EXACTLY
Few people realize just how much work it takes to keep these boards running properly. Why more behind the scenes work than just the posts that are seen.
But what really makes a forum are the members and how they contribute and what they contribute.
Unless people post things that they have an interest in, and don’t just come to read, the board just stagnates and fades away. This is why so many boards die. People need to start discussions that they have an interest in, and then keep adding to the information and encourage offshoot threads that are of interest also.
Many of us are getting older now and as such just don’t interact with the message boards as we used to be able to do. But being a part of the community, we need to (even if only occasionally) stay in touch and show an interest. But I have to admit this works much better when DIO is on tour.
But let’s keep in touch here as this is the only way we can keep our communities viable and fun

An we appreciate how well YOU have maintained this forum
It’s a really nice place now that the problems that had plagued the official site in the past have been addresses and fixed
It’s nice that The DIO FANs now have a place to go for anything they desire

I've been very busy but dropped by to wish a Merry Christmas!
And I have my own website and it is a lot of work.
Plus I've been playing with a band again (FINALLY!)

Yeah, they can be a lot of work--but always rewarding when you get SO many e mails responding to things like people having access to hard to find or just interesting tunes, pictures, or articles etc.

The website is www.banddifferent.nl - it's a cover band but we are moving towards writing some originals.
There are recorded songs on the Playlist section - click on the white song names.
Plus there is a video on Youtube - search "Kampen Different" and it will pop up.

Nice...I could not understand much on the site itself, but found the tune stream section. Not as hard as I usually listen to, but I love Free, and you covered it nicely making it your own. Not sure who Anouk is but I like the music while I am puttering around the house.

Anouk is the number one Dutch female rock singer - she sings in English so I'm astounded why she has never gotten more famous. She can really ROCK!!!
But Isle De Lang has the distinction of being now the first ever Dutch rock/pop star to really break big internationally.
Blof is the number one rock band here, and they are also really great - they sing in Dutch but they make it really work.

Well I did look on youtube and found somethnig I am not sure was you guys--it was in a dark bar and very short--mostly hear the crowd drinking and dancing.
But, I did find a series of clips called "in studio" or something like that. They were quite good guitar playing.
