I've said NO. For me a performance of Dio with orchestra doesn't seem interesting.
I don't like different styles of music to be mixed. I want to hear a heavy metal singer to Heavy Metal music. |

Dio's music is PERFECT for orchestral input anyone who says otherwise is clearly deaf!
Imagine the great powerful ballads like All The Fools Sailed Away and This Is Your Life boosted with orchestral backing?!
the thought is mind-blowing!
though they shouldnt be too experimental and try and touch the fast-rockers and turn them into extravagant pieces only take the BIG, booming, and soulful tracks
a set like:
Don't Talk To Strangers
Master Of The Moon - PERFECT
Children Of The Sea
Sacred Heart
Catch The Rainbow
Throw Away The Children
The Last In Line
Egypt *COULD sound magnificent if not TOO overblown*
Lord Of The Last Day
As Long As It's Not About Love
All The Fools Sailed Away
The Man Who Would Be King
Sign Of The Southern Cross
Magica/Magica (Reprise)
This Is Your Life - the perfect ending with solely RJD on stage, in spotlight with a piano |

Hmmm... only if his music stays heavy, so the guitars, bass and drums should stay on the forground |
I agree, in Metal an orchestra is useful, but should never take over the musice. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

Maybe my ears are different from some of you guys
But sometimes when I listen to music...there is always something lacking in the sound...and there is plenty room for adding more in the arrangement...if its well produced.
Draconian are very Heavy in their music ....but you do get little bits of orchestra in some of their songs...a bad producer will make it sound like shite.
There is nothing wrong with having a orchestra...but its all down to the mix if it works or not.
One of the best bands around that working like this is Epica, the also add Opera to some of their songs.
Epica - Facade of Reality

I say no. I'd rather hear Dio go ska! _________________ "The Shithawks are coming for you. Big, Dirty Shithawks."
