This band is the archenemy of the false god of the christians and they are in fact the true gods of the planet earth.
Man, I first discovered this band at a local CD shop and since worshipped their album Grand Decleration of War. It's gotten in trouble several times with Christians. Anyway, how do you all like these gods among gods.

Grand Declaration of War sucks.

Skal man høre Mayhem så skal man høre De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas!

Deathcrush og Live in Leipzieg er verdt å høre på.
Genialt med introen til Pure Fucking Armageddon.

Does the rest of that say the same thing as the first sentence?

If it means what I think it means, I'll agree that Mayhem's work with Dead is ten times as better as their work with any other vocalist, but I don't like the work with Attila. I mean, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is good, but Attila's vocals are too, monotone? (i guess),
What's wrong with Grand Decleration of War? The first half of the album rocks.
Live in Leipzig is their best album

Yes, at some point it comes down to that. Dead was one hell of a good vocalist.

DMDS should probably have been instrumental. I think it actually would have made it stronger. Attila's vocals are almost ruining the album when it's compared with what the other members gave to DMDS. It sounds childish, ridicoulous, fake...
Nevertheless DMDS is one of Mayhems better albums because of the work of HH and Euro (+ Varg).

"The first half of the album rocks." You kinda said it yourself, the rest of the album sucks. And the first part ain't that good either.

Pure Fucking Armageddon!

At first I hated De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and like refused to listen to it for a couple months. I have grown to love it though, Attila's vocal style is just so different from almost everything else in the genre. It really sets this album apart from a typical black metal album.

I really can't have an opinion on the current version of Mayhem since I don't have any of the recent albums, but I don't think there should be a band called Mayhem anymore. Mayhem is probably the most talked about black metal band outside of Dimmu Borgir (ignoring the fact that they're not true black metal). Almost all of Mayhem's fame comes from the murder of Euronymous, the crimes of Varg, and the suicide of Dead. It just seems like the band only exists today to feed off the fame brought upon by those events. Mayhem should be nothing but black metal history.

God and Christians are capitalized. Worshiped has one p. It's, Declaration of war. Oh, you really mean to say, this band's CD is Grand Deceleration of War with God of Abraham, Jacob, Isaiah & Christians.

If they're at war with someone, their enemy must be as true as they are. Or why fight something that doesn't exist?

They're fighting an ideal. And they are turning towards the light..not from.

You're wrong.

The main reason why people (or at least non-metalheads) think of satanism when they think of black metal is because the main image has been that they're grim and evil satanists and that they're fighting the christians and the christian belief.

For many bands it wouldn't be right to be labeled as satanists (since they're pagan. gjerne åsatru), but for Mayhem it is right.

It was like that from the beginning, and Jan himself has said that it's true. A lot has changed in the BM scene since the late 80's and early 90's and now no one is really fighting the christians anymore (exept the hilarious musicvideos from Demon Burger. LOL).

The real BM scene existed (as I've already said) in the late 80's and the early 90's. if you're introduced to Mayhem NOW, and believes that Grand Declaration of War is one hell of a masterpiece, then it says more about you and your non-existing BM knowledge, than it really does about Mayhem.

Mayhem fought christianity with the anti-religion satanism, which makes the christian god unholy and unworthy, but not unreal.

I never said GDOW was their best. I would say that would either be Deathcrush or Live in Leipzig (the latter being one of my favorite albums of all time. BM or otherwise) But I can still like GDOW, right? I mean, I can't stand this shit with Attila at all. It's like listening to fucking cannibal corpse. And I also know that it shouldn't say the true over their logo anymore. The True Mayhem is long since gone. Sad
