Guess what just got delivered today. Wink

Now, all I can say is when I played a hag, it was a Ultra Swede, you may say the low end model, if 450 dollars could be considered low end. Even then, it pretty much blew the Epiphones right out the water, and was on par with a decent LTD.

This is the Select model, the top of the line version. I took the stock Hagstrom Vintage style pickups, as opposed to the SDuncans, which I never liked. In a brief summary...

OMFG

Even compared to the Ultra's, night and day. I had heard a lot of Gibson owners were liking this one, and considering a Select was about 1/3 the price, but have to say, this just became my second child. Wink

To compare it to a Gibson would be unfair to the Hag, this is a completely different animal with it's own sound and feel. The sustain on this thing is insane, and it's such a different guitar from everyone else with the differences in how they make it. When I strummed this thing, the entire guitar just vibrated with the strings.

Haven't played it much, but just playing with knobs, far greater range of sound than my Ibanez. From very clean to very dirty, and the knobs are quite sensitive.

Just blown away. This is under a grand, but I liked this better than guitars that cost a lot more. The big acid test is when my friend comes over. He's a huge Gibson fan, has 2 $3500 plus LP's, but I think he's gonna be quite surprised. The Asian guitars are sure catching up to the US made ones, I couldn't find the slightest blemish and the fit and quality was first rate. Heavy sucker though, about 10 pounds.

It's been named already. Funny thing, both my friend and I said the exact same thing. That's a handsome Blue Bitch. Hence, the guitar will be known as the Blue Bitch. Smile

Sorry for the bragging, don't usually do that, but I'm pretty stoked. If you have never played a hag, should try it if you have the chance. Very different sound and feel, but I loved it at first strum. Smile

Thanks, I'm pretty converted now. Eyeing another different Hag. geez.

Once I get over my rust, be putting up a website with this and others. The Hag isn't perfect, couple things there, but overall a real good guitar, a bargain for the price. I also just got a Champion 600, and already ordered new tubes and speaker to start a mod. Smile

The Hag looks a lot better than the photo's, plays and sounds as good as I expected, if not better.
