Unfortunately, as much as I like Rush, their Vapour Trails record sucked balls, both songwise and production wise. I've heard tracks from the new one, and it's somewhat better, but it seems their best days are behind them in terms of songwriting.

I thoughy Vapor Trails was pretty good. Admittedly it sounds like you're streaming it free from their website (very distorted) but it had some good stuff. Earthshine is a classic. Its live cuonterpart was much better though. One of the best concert releases ever IMO Cool

The production really is horrible, and you're right there were a couple good songs. They all sounded far better on the live DVD - which is a bit of a switch.

I pretty much always prefer live recordings, especially Rush ones. I like the energy and power on a live album somehow.

They were one of the first rock bands I got into, around the time Vapor Trails (2002) came out. I liked that one, but their new on (Snakes and Arrows) just blew me away. Great lyrics, and great mucisianship all around.
I've seen them live twice, in 02 and 07.

Went to the band's gig at Wembley last night and it was the best thing I've ver seen, hands down. They seriously rocked and played for about three hours once you take away the intermission.
They had an awesome set but I'm a little disappointed (and surprised) that they left out The Trees and Closer To The Heart. Got the Mission and loads of new S&A stuff though so I won't complain.

I've been a Rush fan ever since... well, this morning. I heard Far Cry on the radio and assumed it was one of their classic singles. I was surprised to find out it was from their new album, which shows that a band that's been playing for thirty years can still record classics. I also had no idea they were a three-piece, they have such a full sound.

One of my all time favorite bands, but I think much of their later stuff is pretty weak.

The members of Canadian rock band Rush have donated $100,000 from the sale of tickets to last weekend's Winnipeg concert to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

The three band mates -- Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart -- also announced today they will be selling museum T-shirts at all of the remaining Canadian stops on their Snakes and Arrows Live concert tour, and donating all of the proceeds from those sales to the museum's $105-million private sector fund-raising campaign.

"My band mates and I are proud to be associated with the creation of a Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg," Lee said in a written statement.

"Canadians are uniquely positioned to be leaders in championing such causes, and we applaud the efforts of the Asper family in making this museum a reality. We hope that Canadians across the country will join us in lending their support."

Gail Asper, chair of the museum's fund-raising campaign, said the Rush donation is another indication of how the museum has become "closer to the heart" of more and more Canadians.

"This generous donation demonstrates Rush's commitment to advancing the cause for human rights in Canada and around the world," she said. "We are thrilled with this donation and encourage all Rush fans to buy the T-shirts and wear them proudly."

The T-shirts state: "My pals Rush and I support the Canadian Museum for Human Rights."

The $265-million museum, which has the support of all three levels of government and 50 ethno-cultural and human rights groups in Canada, will explore the subject of human rights in order to enhance people's understanding of human rights, promote respect for others and encourage reflection and dialogue.

It will be the first national museum to be built outside the National Capital Region and the first to be created in 41 years.

I think my all time favorite band deserves a nice bump. The new tour is going to be sick with them playing all of Moving Pictures! I own every album and I honestly don't think they have made one bad album. Granted there are a few songs I don't care for, the other 5,000,000,000 ones make up for it.

I have to have a 2112 fix every so often and every time i hear it i am just as blown away as the first time i heard it, but every album after that just does not do the same for me and that really bums be out. What ever they did in those days or whatever they felt and were going through at the time i wish they would go through it again and get back that killer thing they had for 2112. Confused

Love them!! Awesome. First gig I went to Signals tour..at Wembly.

Amazing muso's...Alex Lifeson, probably one of rocks greatest, but never mentioned guitarists!!

Not seen them for many a year now. So wishes I seen them on the 3oth Anniversary tour. Closest I got was seeing a tribute band called Limelight, supporting Yngwie Malmsteeen. at the old Astoria in London

Would like to see them when they play next.
