Hmmm well it might be hard for him to decide the next move as he got business with H&H, probably Dio will make an album with those guys not sure. But I heard also rumors that he is awaking his original Dio band and my guess is that he will soon start recording a sequel to Magica.

Cool

There is no probably. They are already making it. What people are talking about is that each year he moves onto something else so no new Dio album or Dio tour here.

He toured here for Master of the Moon in 2004. I again saw him twice on that tour. He then went overseas to tour and then did the Holy Diver thing and toured in Europe for it. We NEVER got a tour for that. Instead a DVD was made. So none of us in the US got to see the Holy Diver tour unless we flew over there. Then the Heaven and Hell project came up which was supposed to be just a summer festival of dates in support of the Black Sabbath: Dio Years compilation that was coming out. That turned into a full blown world tour. So again Dio the band and new album put on hold. Then they announced that they were going to do a new album together and then another world tour to support that. Most of us realize this means no new Dio album until next year then.

So stop implying like we are all driving tanks around and shooting each other over here.

Okay, so Ronnie is turning 66 next month I believe (don't remember if it's June or July), will be doing a full-blown tour with JP...is that going to be a world tour?? Anyway, then, take the time to put together a new Dio album...Ronnie never does anything half-ass, so how long does it take for the band Dio to make an album....at least a year? I don't know, I could be wrong, but we are looking at him doing a tour with Dio when he is like 67, 68 years old.

Don't get me wrong, the man rocks the house and it is incredible that he does this at his age. It is no crime to get older, it is happening to all of us. I just wonder if he will be doing metal tours in his late 60's....

I am also covered by your statement. I think his birthday is in July. We should make him a present Shocked Razz Smile

I am not sure if the Metal Masters is a world tour (maybe for Priest) or not but they are making an album and there will be more than likely a tour to support it. I would surmise that would be dates in the US and then dates in Europe or vice versa thus making it a world tour.

Even with being told they have been working on Dio material it would be optimistic for a new Dio album at the end of this year or even next year. They are going to ride the H&H train as far as it takes them which could be well into next year. And never say never but they never said the current project would have a full blown album when they started. It was just supposed to be some summer festival dates. They could all get giddy and do another full blown album as well after releasing this album and following tour. They have lasted two albums together before.

Ronnie is never going to say Dio the band is through but he is going to ride the wind where ever it takes him and currently all stations lead to H&H town.

actually , for alot of us in the states , its been 6 years(KTD tour) since a solo tour. as ronnie only did 15 or so states on the MOM tour here. i know i was bummed Sad when he didnt come to mpls, mn for it, as he always comes here and fills 1500-2000 clubs every single time Very Happy i never did hear why he skipped so many cities that tour that sell well for him i know there are multiple places to book on any given day Confused
the holy diver live would have been cool too but at least its on dvd Very Happy
i was lucky enough to see him last year though, on the h & h tour.
as i get older now ( 40's) it just seems like way too long ( 5 yrs) of a time span in my life to be able to see someone that means alot to me.
we are lucky though that he continues to play !!!
i understand why he would want to continue to do the h & h band.. i just hope the vocals on the cd are melodic and catchy like dio's material. i really didnt hear that on the 3 h & h songs..

Did someone bring back my grandmother from the dead? She used to minimize shit all the time. Your arm would be hanging off and she would tell you that it was nothing why she has had two arms just hanging off. Hey I am hungry ... hungry? You can't be hungry there are kids in Africa who are hungry ... you do not know what hunger is. Hey I am cold ... cold? Eskimos are cold, they live in snow most of the year and make igloos out of snow to live in. You do not know what cold is. Hey someone is robbing me and just took my wallet ... robbing you? The 30s were a turbulent time. Many were out of work and desperate. You do not know what it is like to be robbed.

IF none of us are allowed to bitch then why don't you hop on that plane and just go to Europe yourself? I know Argentina has an airport. Europeans travel there for vacations.

I see...

Well, I'm hoping for a H&H album before the next decade and then a sequel to Magica. Magica had "Lord Of The Last Day" and "Fever Dreams" plus the theme so it might be cool to get some more Magica.

Cool

I guess I'm wondering why Dio is so scared to play in the states? Other than H&H shows that is. Why are all of his shows overseas?

He has criticized the musical development of the country and probably doesn't like the current image that the States has, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are going nowhere and ppl just dying and wasting money on weapons etc.

Then we have average healthcare systems, too little attention towards global climate change, a huge annual number of murders etc. so not wondering much if Dio IS scared to play there...

I'm myself from Finland.

Cool

Please keep your political opinions of the U.S. to yourself Finland, with your short statement it is clear you have no understanding of America. We have thousands of people crossing the border on a daily basis trying to live in the most generous and FREE country in the world. In reference to you mentioning the mideast... Freedom isn't free, my friend. Global warming is B.S.

Dio rules!!

mnblaster Smile
political opinions of the US,UK or any other country are allowed.
What Mysterioman says is right, the wars are getting us nowhere,
Only a fool would say that the occupation of Iraq is not a disaster,Afghanistan is a different matter and I do think we are making a difference even if it is slow. Now I hope my Government does not even think about Iran, until it does something about the Robert Mugabe regime in Zimbabwe.
Governments call Iraq a bad fight meaning there is lots of political risks...well it cost Tony Blair his job in the end,but Zimbabwe would be a good fight, the world would look at the Britain and the USA in a different light if we did something there and of course South Africa has to get off its arse and do something as well.
Anyway if you guys want to debate different political opinions you are free to do so in the General Chats topics.
Thanx Smile

Obviously Europe etc. are finally catching on to what we in the states knew thirty years ago, that Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest shows on Earth. Very Happy And I'm glad that the rest of the world is actually catching on. Heavy Metal is new to many people, as it was actually prohibited in some places over there. Confused However I understand this concern, as it seems that many in the U.S. are now pre-occupied today with utter non-sense! Also, it seems that many have just forgotten...I call this phenomena "Spoiled & Jaded" Rolling Eyes

Do you really think Europe has been playing catch up with Ronnie James Dio Shocked I don't think so,he plays in Europe almost every year since the release of Holy Diver.
Heavy Metal is not prohibited in some places over here Laughing
They could not even ban Metal in Communist Russia,I think you would be very surprised by how diverse the media in Europe is towards Metal and other genres of Music as well.
While Heavy Metal was dying in the USA,The Europeans started ''hybridizing''this was not popular in USA,of course some of the sub-genres of Heavy Metal are not to everyones taste but it moved forward in Europe,I believe the real heart beat of Heavy Metal is individualism,no matter what music you like or hate...nothing can stop you for enjoying it...Not even the Government or the Church can constrained Heavy Metal and thats one of Heavy Metal's best qualities.
