A battle between the Great people.

Both origin London, UK
They were formed at the same period (1968-Zeppelin, 1970-Queen)
They both never changed a band member. (Paul Rodgers & Bonham's son don't count)
They both lost a member.
So many things in common.

The absolute battle, we can even create a more detail battle

Freddie Mercury Vs Robert Plant
Brian May Vs Jimmy Page

I will go for Queen mainly because of Mercury, one of the best live performers ever, i am really sorry that i didn't have the chance to see him live.

I have been lucky enough to see Queen twice with Freddie...so my vote was always gonna be Queen but don't know about the rest of you but when I am listening to Led Zeppelin I become bored stiff after about 8 songs...but not with Queen.
There is not a band I can think of which has crossed over into so many genres of music.Could Led Zeppelin do dance/disco, country, ragtime, and opera and get away with it Question I know Led Zeppelin did some soul, funk and reggae but they still put me to sleep Laughing
Queen also drifted into Heavy Metal with some of their songs.
Queen where the most successful band ever in British Music history, out selling Led Zeppelin in the UK,okay Led Zeppelin may have sold more albums in the USA than Queen but overall both bands sold about the same amount over 300 million sales.

From a vocalists perspective, I would take the sounds of Freddy Mercury over the whining of Robert Plant any day. Queen was thee most versitile band ever. Like Holy said, they crossed over to any genre they felt like playing, and produced great songs. Zep had Bonham, but overall Queen beats them in every catagory other than Drums

Freddie Mercury would beat Robert Plant

Jimmy Page would destroy Brian May.

Led Zeppelin Forever.....

The fact that many overlook is that Brian May is also an Astrophysicist. He has a PHD in the subject and has written books on it. We all kniow the stories of Him winding his own pickups by hand, but the truth is that he is a brilliant man. He brought new techniques and inovations to the guitar.

Sorry to the Zep fans, but unlike Jimmy Page, Brian May never felt the need to steal material and call it his own.

Did you know Brian May also uses a Sixpence coin as a plectrum Shocked
He finds plastic plectrums too flexible. He holds the coin very lightly and occasionally uses its serrated edge against the strings to produce a rasp.

LedZep all the way. Freddie was great, but Robert has the edge. To me Jimmy had better riffs in stock than May, although Brian is good as well. But please, no more singing, Brian, OK? Razz

QUEEN of course, they are magic!
Freddie Mercury, R.J.Dio and David Coverdale are the greatest 3!

Sorry but no way Queen stands up to the mighty Zep. We will rock you???? That song freakin blows! We are the Champions...a male Madonna song.

Look at the songs Zep has that were not even popular that blow Queen away. Its like comparing Judas Priest with the B-52s!

I mean Zep changed the face of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal

Queen was a good band that I was fortunate to see a few times, but I also saw Zep twice on their last tour and there is no way in hell they compare at all.

Might as well ask who is better Dio or Limp Bisquit?
