There is something about his style, his interpretation of music that is hypnotic, mesmerizing. In addition, he is equally captivating in his interviews. The greatest quality that I admire in this artist and performer beyond the fact that he is extremely talented, articulate and bright, is his humility. The fact that he is so giving and down to earth as opposed to some other artists which are not nearly as able yet are engulfed with their egos. I really enjoy the sense of humor that he displays continually. In the second link, the interview, recapitulating Ronnie describes the making of Heaven and Hell album, this odyssey. Ronnie was able to literally compose Children of the Sea, spur of the moment. Ronnie is professing to the synchronicity involved with the making of the album. Amazing! So gifted. I feel so inadequate! LOL! So much effort is required for my artistic and scholastic adventures. RJD is so full of inspiration and ideas. The synergy between Iommi and Dio is unmatched although I tend to feel that the driving force behind success is RJD. Ideally, I won’t fall all over myself or be speechless. Was it surreal Rhonda for you? What was the encounter like? How did you feel?

The man himself is hypnotic, and very humble and very giving towards his fans and friends.

Children of the Sea is my all time favorite song!

As for how I felt that night when I met them ! was nervous as hell until he spoke up and mistaken me for a friend I have in Colorado.

I didn't have the heart to correct him... (sorry Ronnie) Embarassed

But for me its always the same when I meet famous people I am shy and I sometimes clam up! People ask WHY I am the way I am around stars... Well for one thing they get enough psycho's everyday, why add myself to that list? (I am no psycho)
Secondly coming from a low class family does that to a persone.
(its like why would they wanna associate with me I am nothing a nobody important)

Turns out I have an impact on people without meaning to.
People once they meet me never forget me... Something I'm still adjusting to.

And I owe all this to my late friend James who got me started @ Foundations Forum, where I met Rob Halford and several other people and it just escalated from there.

Its an awesome experiece!

cool read! thanks a lot!
and as for the 'nothing' statement thats rubbish you seem like a great person! And I'm sure Dio himself could see this when he met you!

Either I am that predictable or you are clairvoyant. Absolutely, I will complain if I am idle. Dinner sounds like a plan and we both can probably talk endlessly about DIO, Judas Priest, etc.

As for the bootlegs, I am conflicted as far as purchasing. The reason being is that in my opinion the artists deserve every penny that they earn because it is their job and they are gifted. Bootlegs, the artist does not derive any compensation. Am I correct in this understanding? Or are the artists now part of this activity? http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-4059782.html.

Holy Magica and Rhonda, would it be permissible to start a thread concentrating on metaphysical musings or is this unacceptable? Ronnie James Dio concentrates on metaphysics, synchronicity, magic and such in his work and I would not think that he would mind if we expanded consciousness in this arena. I am not certain if this is topic is within boudaries or confine and do not want to be chastisized.

I don't see anything wrong with that given that it's something Dio does.

How about you HM???

The Dio Philosophy sounds interesting maybe it should be in Dio Talk.

Music to my ears. Hopefully this can be initiated today. I have several meetings sporadically but will ideally compose today. As for the bootleg issue, am I correct in this understanding? Have things changed, is it now a collaboration amongst artists and the pirates? The reason that I inquire is if it is not at this point, I thought of a way to broker the deal or bridge the gap. Solutions , negotiations are the realm in which I dwell constantly both professionally and academically. The issue myself and others may want a recording of a live version that has not been marketed and manufactured. The artist has the ability to provide this commodity. The 1987 recording that I desire, a deal would have to be brokered in hindsight as this has already occurred for a percentage for the artist. Forward looking and future performance wise, what if the artists had every or a large number of performances available for the public for minimal cost. I may be speaking out of context, however, music is now downloadable so the cost involved would entail the recording. The artist and the fans would both have satisfaction. The downloadable concerts for burning to cds would be contained on the artists site. Is this too a radical of a concept or in your opinion is it feasible? I can tell you why I enjoy recorded concert/live music so much is that the energy of the audience permeates the air given the interaction and exchange with the artist AND each performance is different. I am trying to articulate my thoughts here but the band and the vocalist stylistically improvise and capture the moment. I want that recording for listening pleasure in my convertible, however, ethically I feel conflicted if I purchase and enjoy, and the band is not receiving royalties for their work, the pleasure that I am deriving. Karmically it feels uncomfortable. Make sense? Your thoughts?

Well chit!!

Both Calif dates are a no go for me....

Shoreline is out too far from public transpo and hotels, not to mention wheelchair seating will suck given the layout of the venue.

Glen Helen is GREAT on wheelchair access, but like The Shoreline its too isolated...*SIGHS* Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

*Prays to the DIO gods that they book a good venue*
