I hope this isn't true... not for Simon Wright (infact Simon is one of my favourite drummers) but I can stand that Deep Purple won't exist anymore, I really can't imagine it!!!!

My vote would go to Vinny I guess, but Simon is a very solid drummer!
I love especially the fast paced drumming from Vinny on the Overlove song from Dream Evil although I wish the drums sounds on that album were a bit beter produced, but hey.. those where the 80's..
Also the drumming on Black Sabbath's Mob Rules album is very nice! |

This is tough as the two are totally different drummers. Simon plays double bass which opens up a lot more possibities in style and solo'ing. Vinny plays single bass and is more or a drum fill type person. LIL and HD all consisted of his trademark (going around his drumset with fills) Both drummers are an inspiration to me. But seeing i can't vote ,i won't
tough call in my opinion and i've played drums for over 25 years. its like judging apples and oranges. |
