Well, quite frankly I don't care if Sacred Heart has received some bad reviews. Sacred Heart was the album that got me on board of the ship "Dio", and at the time being (release date) I liked it a lot and still do. I was writing the lyrics all over ...

Without Sacred Heart, I wouldn't be here in this forum.

Sacred Heart was the second album I purchased (after Dream Evil) in the begin 90's and I still love it. Especially the first track King Of Rock And Roll Exclamation

I could never say anything bad about SH. After all it was the album Ronnie was promoting when I first saw him live (with Vivian). I agree that it may have been a little more radio playable than its predicessors, but the songs were very good, and on par with HD and LIL.

Hey all, my first post.

I remember when Sacred Heart came out, i bought the cassette and LOVED the clear cassette (it was the thing to do to cassettes at that time) but when i popped it in, i was a bit disappointed and didnt give it a chance. I was so in love with HD and LIL this just pailed in comparision. But years later when i listened to it, SH the song was one of my favorites.

I do agree, the production isn't as good as LIL or HD, but i did like the incorporation of more keyboards into the album. Yes some of the songs are more poppy, but its still DIO and it Rocks! I just wish i appreciated it as much back then as i do now. SH dvd is one of my favorites.

thank you i appreciate it.

Its amazing it took me so long to join this forum, for how long i've liked dio and his music (i used to draw the logo on my folders in 7th and 8th grade) i lost touch with his music after Dream Evil cause i graduated high school in 89 (yes that dates me) and the internet wasnt around promoting LuTw's i lost touch, cause Grunge came in a ruined the whole rock scene. Although i do have all of dio's albums, i did have to do some catching up in the late 90s, which im glad i did, Strange highways was a great album and KtD etc.

Thanks!

I graduated in 89 as well Very Happy So that makes us both old Very Happy Just for the record Grunge didnt ruin the Rock scene, the record industries attempts to use grunge as a way to kill off Metal is what ruined the scene. If you look back on the big four of grunge, they were Metal bands who tuned down (at least at first) Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana were all heavy sounding bands, until the industry started backing the whimpier Grunge bands like screaming trees, and Souls Asylum. That forced the Big four to be more alternative than metal. The shining star in those days was Alice in Chains. They were a metal band til the end. Very Happy Take a listen to Soundgarden's Jesus Christ Pose, if that aint Metal I dont know what is. Very Happy

I still haven't bought SH on cd, I only have it on cassette... I've been waiting for a remaster version, but it looks like that won't come... So now I've made up my mind to buy the current cd-version... And when I have done that, you can bet they in a 6 months time or so release a remastered version of it... Rolling Eyes

Ok, whatever, I'll buy it again if they decide to remaster it, but for now I need to get the cd, my cassette is worn out...
