So at the beginning of this thread it was looking promising there might be some U.S. tour dates but then after the ride for a dime thing with the evil concert promoter it was said there would be no north american dates this year?

I know you can't tell even if you knew there would be some but can you tell if the statement about no north american dates is true? I'd rather not get my hopes up if it's a definate no go.

I hope if there are some dates they will announce them all at once because I will be going to one of them. I would hate to buy tickets to cali or something and then a week later a virginia date gets announced. Sure I'd love to go to both but I'm a poor person so closer is better Smile

The spring parameter of time concludes in June so ideally he will be perfoming somewhere here by that time I hope. Rhonda you are very knowledgeable on all things Ronnie James Dio. Is Ronnie still married to Wendy Dio? Wendy seems like a very down to earth and nice lady from what I have observed. I see that Wendy does or did manage Dokken as well? What day/month is Wendy born, astrological sign? Is she an earth sign - virgo, capricorn or taurus? My husband of many years is a capricorn and I am a Cancer, second decan as Ronnie James Dio, therefore I was wondering if they also were a water/earth match. Thanks Rhonda or anyone that can answer. Thanks all for advising regarding bootleg items as well. Wink

The forum staff have been asked to keep families and personal, private matters of Dio members off the boards.

Thanx Wink

I did not view that as an intrusive question, forum administrator, Holy Magica. I was interested in trivia relative to Dio and certainly was not prying. The members of this board are most knowledgable concerning these projects and I did not want to expend time researching as I was simply curious.

Rhonda thank you for displaying courtesy and professionalism. I hope that at the next concert I am able to meet them both. When I have attended concerts in the past, it was my own obligations/commitments generally for work the next day that would prevent me from waiting in line to meet/greet autographs. I want to take the time and be dligent when I attend Dio/Black Sabbath in the future and experience some of your rapture that comes from meeting them.

And I DO recommend that if and when you get the chance for a meet and greet.....HAVE THE NEXT DAY OFF!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I had passes for the last H&H show in Fresno and ended up waiting until 3 am. For NOTHING!!

I did not get backstage that night,But Ronnie knew I was there!

Thank you Rhonda. I will take that advice and make sure that I do in fact have the next day off and brace myself for a very late evening. The adrenaline rush will probably keep me up as I do not drink caffeine. I am naturally energetic but I am not used to late evenings reminiscent of my youth. It certainly will be worth it. I was in up very close for the Filmore show, however, this is still a different experience then actually conversing one on one with an idol. It should be intense.

An adrenaline rush does help some folks, for me I need BOTH caffine and adrenaline!!! Shocked

Meeting the band (s) is ALWAYS worth it though!

There is something about his style, his interpretation of music that is hypnotic, mesmerizing. In addition, he is equally captivating in his interviews. The greatest quality that I admire in this artist and performer beyond the fact that he is extremely talented, articulate and bright, is his humility. The fact that he is so giving and down to earth as opposed to some other artists which are not nearly as able yet are engulfed with their egos. I really enjoy the sense of humor that he displays continually. In the second link, the interview, recapitulating Ronnie describes the making of Heaven and Hell album, this odyssey. Ronnie was able to literally compose Children of the Sea, spur of the moment. Ronnie is professing to the synchronicity involved with the making of the album. Amazing! So gifted. I feel so inadequate! LOL! So much effort is required for my artistic and scholastic adventures. RJD is so full of inspiration and ideas. The synergy between Iommi and Dio is unmatched although I tend to feel that the driving force behind success is RJD. Ideally, I won’t fall all over myself or be speechless. Was it surreal Rhonda for you? What was the encounter like? How did you feel?

The man himself is hypnotic, and very humble and very giving towards his fans and friends.

Children of the Sea is my all time favorite song!

As for how I felt that night when I met them ! was nervous as hell until he spoke up and mistaken me for a friend I have in Colorado.

I didn't have the heart to correct him... (sorry Ronnie) Embarassed

But for me its always the same when I meet famous people I am shy and I sometimes clam up! People ask WHY I am the way I am around stars... Well for one thing they get enough psycho's everyday, why add myself to that list? (I am no psycho)
Secondly coming from a low class family does that to a persone.
(its like why would they wanna associate with me I am nothing a nobody important)

Turns out I have an impact on people without meaning to.
People once they meet me never forget me... Something I'm still adjusting to.

And I owe all this to my late friend James who got me started @ Foundations Forum, where I met Rob Halford and several other people and it just escalated from there.

Its an awesome experiece!

How interesting! Rob Halford is my other favorite singer. I shall live vicariously through you and your endeavors with the stars. I vascillate between Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. I am anxious for Nostradamus to be released by Judas Priest. KK Downing wrote me back and was extremely genuine. I tend to focus on one or the other for periods of time listening primarily to one or the other. Last year, it was Judas Priest. Currently, it is DIO/Black Sabbath I derive inspiration from. You indeed do wield power even from behind the computer, it is apparent. Cosmically, synchronicity with your endeavors reflects that you are on the right path for you. James was your intermediary allowing you to transcend, opening doors. My friend best friend Marsha died untimely in 2004. I know that this was a once in a lifetime mystical connection that she and I possessed, not to be repeated in this lifetime. She referred to herself as Star Lady and provided much insight to me during her short life on this plane which I am grateful. I am glad that you have realized your dreams meeting the stars and have found your niche. It is so inspiring to see people realizing their fantasies! I have one more final research paper to complete this weekend and I am done with masters. My fantasies involve doing something for society the masters degree such as eradicating: homelessness in California (particularly involving teens/children), child pornography, human trafficking. Assisting prisoners re-integrating back into society is another interest as well. I was a runaway many, many moons ago myself and recall the feelings of helplessness encountered. It is surreal for me to be on the cusp of completion of this degree. I said all that to say this Rhonda is it is cool that your path is apparent right now for you. I enjoy writing, art and people, therfore, ideally I will be able to synthesize these interests. You are a delight to converse with Rhonda. Have a great evening. I cannot even remember what it is like to not be beholden to professors and required to submit writings each week. Yippeee! My life is almost my own again. Very Happy
